Quaint sought after North Arlington Neighborhood: Arlington has something for everyone, from urban excitement to pleasant neighborhoods. The North Arlington neighborhood of more than 500 homes, including Colonials, ramblers, and Tudors, is about a 15-minute drive from downtown DC. Grand with nice homes on big lots, warm neighborhood. Houses have large tree-filled lots; some back to woods. The Gulf Branch Nature Center, which has trails that lead to the Potomac River, sits at the northeast end of the neighborhood.

Homefront: This began as a small neighborhood of 1940s-style summer homes built into the Arlington hills and around the Washington Golf and Country Club. Wonderful homes which have retained a traditional look despite renovations. Who lives here: Young and middle-aged families, though some retirees are longtime locals. Recent listings included seven homes ranging from just under $1 million to more than $2 million.

Fantastic house & base for visting DC

We stayed in this property for a week this summer (09) and concluded we had found the best possible base for our short visit to the Capitol Region. I know DC well but it was the first time for exploring with my family. The house itself is superb, stacks of room and with everything you need for a stay, and it really is a home from home. Local connections and food stores etc are exactly as described by the owners and although you are likely to be staying here to see the DC the immediate neighbourhood is delightful (and for those who like a morning run the C & O canal towpath is close - just watch out for the killer hill on the return!).
Overall I would have no hesitation to recommending this property to anyone - location great; house even better; and the liaison with the owners prior to arriving was second to none. We have used rented private accommodation for several holiday breaks in both the US and Europe and this rates with the very best we have stayed in - an exceptional rental property.

Charming & comfortable base for a Washington visit

We stayed her for a family vacation to the Washington area in early August. This property provided a wonderful base for our trip. The house is clean, comfortable and has all the amenities that you could need. The owners are very helpful providing a list of activities, grocery stores locations and information on access to Washington, which is close by and easily accessible by the metro which has local parking. My boys especially enjoyed the garden. A much more flexible and enjoyable option than a cramped hotel room. I recommend considering this property for your visit to the area.

Spring Break in DC

We were delighted to stay in this lovely home over Spring Break. The home was clean and comfortable and it was located in a beautiful neighborhood in Arlington. We all loved having a safe, quiet place to come home to after our busy days of sight-seeing. Our kids especially enjoyed the yard and the big screen tv. We had no trouble navigating the public transportation system as we went to and from DC. The home's location made it easy to see other areas as well. (We travelled into Maryland and Pennsylvania in addition to DC.) The owners were beyond accomodating. They checked in multiple times before we arrived to see if we had questions or concerns. They even provided restaurant and sight seeing suggestions. We felt like we had our own DC concierge service. We feel completely confident in recommending this home!!
