Santa Fe Vacation Rental condo

We stayed for four nights in August/2009 over Indian Market weekend. It was a 10-minute walk to the Plaza from our location, with car parking in a private lot adjacent to and behind the condo.

The entrance was thorough a locked gate, which revealed a walkway to the entry doors. The walkway was enclosed and private, which helped with our small dog who could safely go outside unleashed.

The living area had a flat screen television with many cable TV channels, and broadband internet access. The welcome sheet advertised "wireless internet", but we only saw wired access via an ethernet cable attached to what appeared to be a cable modem. Wired internet access was fast and easy.

A washer/dryer along with a well stocked kitchen provided everything we needed. The only oddity was to access the one bathroom, you had to enter through the 2nd bedroom. We had no one using that bedroom, so it was no issue for us.

The adobe construction made for a "very" quiet place, despite fronting on a somewhat busy street. The only time we heard street noise was when we had the doors open. The very comfortable bedding made for sound sleeping.

There was a phone available for local calls, which came in handy as the thick adobe construction completely zeroed our cell phone signal when inside. If contact with other people is important, get the home's landline phone number as it will be the only way for people to contact you when you are inside (except if you bring a Skype/Vonage phone to use with the internet connection).

The home is not air conditioned, and Santa Fe was in the upper 80's when we were there. Temperature inside the home reached the upper 70's. The owners had provided a large floor fan and we found as long as we kept a breeze blowing across us we were quite comfortable.

Communication with the owners was great. At the last minute we decided to extend our stay one night, and that was no problem.

Given Santa Fe lodging prices for places close to the Plaza over Indian Market are very high, we thought this was a great value. We would definitely stay here again.
