Diamonds by the Sea is situated on one of the most beautiful white sandy beaches in Freeport. The crystal clear waters are several shades of aqua and turquoise. Days can be spent just relaxing and enjoying the peaceful serenity at Diamonds; And after a day on the beach, where on many occasions you can watch Dolphins swimming not far from the shoreline, a great BBQ on your deck, and a Hammock is just what is needed to wrap up a lovely day in Paradise. A short walk on the beach from us, are several beach bars and restaurants and also available are water sports activities, kayaking, sailing etc. We take pride in being one of the rare vacation cottages with privacy and yet less than 5 miles is Port Lucaya with its activities, Casino, restaurants, bars and shopping. We are also proud of the fact that Diamonds is where Keira Knightley chose to live and enjoy for several months while filming Pirates of the Caribbean II in Grand Bahama.

Cottages are Turn Key fully Air Conditioned with W/D for your comfort.

Beautiful sandy beach, very private and relaxing. Beach Bars and restaurants are walking distance from us as well as water sports activities.

Two Months in Paradise South

My wife and I have just returned from spending two months in the Lilac Cottage at Diamonds-by-the-Sea and the experience was simply wonderful. We stayed in the Topaz Cottage in 2010 for one month and enjoyed it so much we returned to Diamonds-by-the-Sea again in February and March of 2011. The beach is within steps of the Lilac Cottage and the house is decorated tastefully with all the comforts and needs that one would want. The Cottage has three bedrooms which came in handy when company arrived from the frozen north to enjoy some time in the much warmer climate of the Grand Bahamas. This was our third time to the Island and the availability of good grocery stores and eating establishments has much improved since our first trip in 2006. We both enjoy snorkeling and there is a small reef adjacent to the property that provides a good opportunity to see many species of fish found in the area. Our snorkeling highlights on the Island included turtles, eagle rays and sharks, which provided a bit of excitement. Gladys, the owner of Diamonds-by-the-Sea, is a wonderful lady who does her best to see that any concerns and / or needs of her guests are addressed. She lives in her house on the property so her presence ensures everything runs smoothly. We highly recommend the property and would encourage anyone looking for a restfull vacation, while still having restaurants and entertainment nearby, to consider Diamonds-by-the Sea...we've already booked again for next winter....thanks Gladys.

Ideal Vacation

Our visit to the Lilac Cottage was much more than we had expected. Everything was neat and clean inside with lush greenery on the grounds,, and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful beach just steps away and the restaurants and shops in Port Lucaya. Gladys welcomed us like old friends, and we can't wait to go back to Diamonds by the Sea!

SECOND WONDERFUL VISIT THIS YEAR

After a most enjoyable stay in May, we had to return for another taste of Paradise at Diamonds bythe Sea.
It is a perfet place to lose yourself in the Carribean, relaxing and experiencing what Freeport/Lucaya is all about, offering the activities of Nassau and the laid-back lifestyle of the Out Islands.
The accomadtions are perfection and the hostess is more than gracious and so much fun. On this trip we met heerr assistant who was most accommodatring and helpful. The reality is better than the description.
This is a true home away from home and cannot wait to return.

Il cottage è grazioso ma purtroppo abbiamo trovato l'aria condizionata rotta ed è stato impossibile viverci visto il caldo asfissiante che c'è alle Bahamas.La proprietaria non era presente, abbiamo chiamato più volte la responsabile che ha risolto il problema per 2 giorni, dopo di che si è di nuova rotta poichè è molto vecchia.Considerando il prezzo consistente non si può accettare una vacanza dove si soffoca dal caldo!
Owner's Response: I am so sorry that my guests at Diamonds bythe Sea had such a bad experience because of the exceptional Summer heat in the Bahamas and that the A/C cut off on them during their stay.. We have 3 lovely, clean and comfortable Cottages and 2 Studios at Diamonds bythe Sea and all the reviews from all of my guests, many return guests, have been great reviews; I do my best to satisfy all our guests with everything they need to make their stay a very enjoyable and pleasant experience, and it is a reality that here on the Islands we do not find the right parts immediately and parts have to be ordered and flown in from the States, clear customs, delivered and then get the repairs done.
I am happy to see that she did say the cottage was charming. Hopefully she will contact me directly and I will suggest to her she come again and she will then, like other guests, have a wonderful experience at Diamonds, as we now have a new A/C. And anyone reading this review, please visit our other Homeaway listings of Diamonds bythe Sea, all the reviews are very wonderful and positive.
