Kickin' Back in Maine:
The homeowners of this cottage come to the coast of Maine to relax and get away from it all. They have named the cottage Kickin' Back just for that reason. If you do nothing else but sit in one of several adirondack chairs and gaze at your private beach and the sunsets, your trip will have been worth it all. Just feet from the front door you will see loons, ducks, seals, eagles, turkey, deer, and the occasional moose. The calm waters in the bay are ideal to kayak and explore. Newbury Neck is also a great area to ride bikes.
Dinner time:
If lobster is your thing, you have arrived. Perry's Lobster Shack is less than a quarter mile away. He has fresh lobster, crab, mussels, and other surprises. Ellsworth and Blue Hill can provide you with with many gastronomic delights. Finelli's and Pat's have outstanding pizza. Cleonice, Calypso, Arborvine, and Westcott Forge are excellent and have a wide array of choices. From pizza to seafood to steak, its all there. See the collection of menus at the cottage. Acadia and beyond:
Acadia National Park is a must if you have not visited this area before. It is about a 45' drive and well worth it. Check out Bar Harbor and its array of shopping and restaurants while there. The owners suggest you go on a day trip down the Blue Hill Penninsula to Stonington, Deer Isle, Castine, and Brooklin for glimpse of Maine as it should be.
