Our cabin is located 17 miles from Crescent City off of Highway 199 in a quiet secluded country setting, We are surrounded by the Smith River National Recreation Area. Our cabin overlooks the river, an organic garden, and large lawns. The Smith River is one of the largest undamed wild and scenic watersheds in the United States. Unparalleled in beauty and tranquility. Solitude and pristine, natural settings can be found throughout the area. Over 65 miles of trails give access to the botanical areas, forested ridges, craggy peaks, grassy meadows, scenic rivers, and mountain lakes.

The spectacular Northern California coastline is only 20 minutes away.

Life on a Ranch!

Everything about our stay was perfect! The photos do not reflect the beauty of the surroundings and the wonderful feeling this ranch gives you! The cottage was very clean and supplied with basic items we would need. Kris and Mike were extemely helpful in answering any questions we had and they had excellent recommendations for hiking trails etc. We loved the hot tub especially after a big hike. I would cerfainly recommend this place to others, especially if they enjoy exploring and hiking.. We would recommend any of the nearby trails for hiking as the redwoods all around this area are simply majestic!!

A Cabin Setting Better than a Kincaid Painting

The day after Christmas my husband and I arrived with my parents to the most perfect year round vacation spot I have seen in years. Although I father had visions of casting fish hooks into the wild and wooly Smith River we all loved walking around the property taking photographs of wildlife, and off beat art. Most of all we enjoyed each others company in a very comfortable and cozy river front cabin. We could see how this location would be perfect for a family reunion. The listing was better than listed and photographed, and very clean. The most amazing oysters in the world can be found a short drive away in Crescent City, and I loved taking photos for the commercial fishing boats. The Oregon border was nearby where we found several amazing consignment stores. Chris was very helpful in providing contact information of fishing charters.

SPECTACULAR SERENITY

wife and i stayed 3 nights in beautiful middlefork ranch. every amenity...every comfort...everything
needed for a relaxing, recuperative stay. we were both getting over a bout of flu and Kris and her
husband Mike made our stay perfect for getting well. enough so that by the third day, we had enough
energy to hike 10 switchbacks up the mountain toward the gasquet toll road. what a dramatic and
beautiful view. thank you kris and mike for a wonderful mini-vacation.

Unique lovely stay

My husband, son and self recently returned from a week's stay at the ranch. The grounds are so lovely. The pristine private riverfront beach has chairs and lounge chairs to enjoy. Their garden is spectacular to view. The owner's two friendly dogs come by to visit. I would recommend staying at this rental to all my friends and family. We had a wonderful time!

Stay at Middlefork Ranch in the Rustic Retreat

My husband and I found this cabin rental by chance, searching for a place to go on our one year wedding anniverasary. We found this place and it was heaven. Our cabin overlooked the Smith River and the 15 acres of property was amazing. We were able to sight see and travel to Oregon and Crescent City with ease, as well as Klamoth CA. Kris and Mike, the owners, were fantastic people and we really had a great time. The foot bridge, made by Mike, was astonishing. We truely enjoyed our stay and will go definitely visit again.
