Kiawah is a naturalists dream for bird watching, gator gazing, and dolphin sightings. A great horned owl nests frequently in our yard and provides a hoot to everyone. Deer frequent the yard and eat only the expensive plantings with impunity. A white heron rookery is located at the end of our street and creates nightly excitement when the great white birds come in for their sunset landings.
At the end of Kiawah Island near Capt. Sam's inlet, local dolphins provide free entertainment with their unusual habit of stranding baitfish on the shore. Sunrises and sunsets on the beach are just minutes away. The house is about a 10-15 minute walk or quicker bike ride to the beach.
