Perfect for family and friends, our Gulf side, 3-bedroom condo is located at Blue Lupine in Blue Mountain Beach, a quiet beach community minutes from Seaside and Sandestin.
Our unit is on the 3rd floor featuring beautiful panoramic western views of the gulf, lighlighting incredible sunsets. The master bedroom features a king size bed, bath with shower and Jacuzzi plus a private balcony. The 2nd bedroom contains a queen size bed with private bath and opens onto the main balcony. The 3rd bedroom has twin beds and shares a full hall bath. All bedrooms have ceiling fans and the master and queen bedroom have TV, DVD, and cable access. For extra guests, the living room sofa converts to a queen size bed. For our younger guest, we have a portable playpen and high chair.
The open living plan features a large seating area, TV with DVD/VCR and sound system. Cable TV service offers over 75 channels. High-speed wireless Internet access is available in the building atrium plus free local and long distance telephone service are provided in the unit. In addition, there is a fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor charcoal grill. The dining room table seats six plus three at the bar. High quality linens with the exception of beach towels are provided along with a in-unit wather and dryer.
Blue Lupine is a charming 48 unit complex on the Gulf of Mexico located between two private upscale home developments and adjacent to a protected conservation area. Each unit opens onto a 4-story, sky lighted atrium filled with tropical plants and seating areas. Elevators located at either end of the atrium provide comfortable access from the gated underground parking garage. Blue Lupine is convenient to nearby grocery stores, outlets and other unique shopping and dining options.
Overlooking the emerald green water of the Gulf are the pool and hot tub, gated for your privacy. On site security is present during the high traffic season. Beach setups are available for rent during the active seasons.
For a bit of exercise, try the 3rd floor exercise room equipped with cross-trainers, treadmills, bikes, multi-station weight machines, free weights and TV. Want outdoor exercise? Bring your bike, rent one at the local shop, run or hike the 17 mile paved Timpoochee Trail that passes within a block of the building. Or, take a walk on the beach, either direction taking you to one of the rare coastal dune lakes found in our area. There are only four other places in the world that feature these dune lakes.
Walking on the famous sugar white sand of Blue Mountain Beach or listening to the calming sounds of the Gulf of Mexico are truly unique experiences.
We look forward to having you as our guest. Please check the calendar below for available rental dates.
Spent almost a week here and had two children, two parents, and two grandparents in our party. It was perfect for us. The master bedroom, living and dining areas were all very spacious. It was nice to have everyone on one level instead of in a house with many levels (and stairs that would have been difficult for the grandparents).
Though the unit is on the far side of the building from the beach, the view was very pleasant (we liked the combination of ocean and wetlands). The pictures don't really do the view justice. I'm not sure that being in a unit closer to the beach would actually get you a better ocean view; it might just give you a closer view of the neighboring houses. The end units would give you a good beach view, but overlooking the pool might have been kind of noisy. (The pool was not crowded, but kids' voices carry.)
We were pleased with the set-up of the building. The arrangement of the pool overlooking the beach was very nice and easy for the kids to run back and forth between the two. It was also nice for the grandparents to be able to overlook the beach and not have to take the stairs down to it. We could watch dolphins from the hot tub deck.
This was our first time in the area and it seems that Blue Mountain Beach was the perfect spot. Not crowded like Destin and Seaside, but very close to both. We enjoyed walking the trails in nearby Watercolor and having ice cream at Blue Mountain Creamery.
The unit was clean and photos were accurate. Simple, comfortable, sturdy furnishings that I didn't have to worry about with kids in the unit. The only place I would have wanted an upgrade on furnishings is the beds, and that is the reason for 4 stars rather than 5. The beds were fine for a week, but I would want plusher mattresses and nicer sheets for longer. Some of the sheets were nice quality, but most were more basic. (Towels were very nice quality though.) Also, when we arrived there were only sheets and bedspreads--no blankets. When I brought it to the attention of the manager Ashley, she quickly provided us with brand new blankets. Also kudos to the evening security guard who helped us with finding carts, using the lockboxes, etc and was extremely friendly. (Wish I could remember her name.)
All in all, a great stay, and we would love to return!
We truly enjoyed our stay in this condo! The layout is spacious, and because it is an end unit, it is quiet. Having a bathroom for each bedroom is convenient. The bed linens and towels were high quality and so were the dishes, and pots and pans. The fitness room had all the equipment anyone would want and it was right next door. The weather was quite cool during our stay, but the pool was kept warm enough to enjoy swimming, and sitting in the hot tub while looking at the gulf was quite relaxing.
The local area is simply beautiful with colorfully landscaped well maintained homes, and with small lakes surrounded by trees and harboring wildlife. A bakery that makes incredible scones and cinnamon rolls is quite close by and the bike shop which is next door to the bakery has very friendly staff and high quality bikes. Also, good restaurants are near, I liked the 4 Mile Salad with grouper at The Local Catch. This condo is close enough to Destin for frequent visits, yet far enough away to provide a low key, relaxed environment.
No place is perfect. The view from the balcony is not as depicted in the photos because of new home construction, but the view is still pleasant with lots of trees and beautiful homes and several glimpses of the gulf water. The owner should display a more accurate photo. The walk to the gulf from this condo is extremely short, especially compared to some of the rental houses in the area, but it might be a small inconvenience for a family with very young kids compared to the walk from one of the gulf front units. There were a few minor issues inside the condo, the guest bathroom shower was slow to drain, the shower head in the master bathroom was OK, but really needs replacing, and one of the balcony doors didn't lock.
The property manager was very helpful, flexible and accommodating! She responded quickly to our questions via email even though it was the Thanksgiving holiday.
We would absolutely return to this unit! It truly is a fantastic value. If you pick this unit, you will have a fantastic stay too!
My husband, our 2 year old son, my sister, and 9 year old nephew had the pleasure of staying at this condo last June 2011. We loved it so much, that we are returning there this July (and will continue to do so every year!) Jim, the owner was a PLEASURE to work with....very nice, laid back, and helpful. The lock on the front door was not working correctly when we first got there (it wasn't a big deal as the door locks automatically from the outside- just wanted to be extra safe so my toddler didn't walk out!). I called Jim and the lock was fixed within 20 minutes! Jim was also great with being so flexible with us on our arrival date last year and this year. I couldn't find that with anyone else! Another plus! With all of the rental properties available, it can become overwhelming to find just the right spot. Look no further, because this condo is it! It was super clean, decorated nicely, right by the elevators and fitness room, and had great views. It is an end unit, which made it nice and quite. This condo is only steps away from the beach, which is perfect and convenient! The open layout worked great for us as well. The condo is also conveniently located very close to the Publix and is short distance to all of the other beaches on either side of it. I can honestly say that this vacation and my experience at this condo was one of my best vacations ever! Seriously! Thanks for making our vacation so memorable. Looking forward to staying there again in a few months!
We make 2 trips to this condo each year - one with our 4 kids and another with just the 2 of us. It is perfect for both! Spacious, comfortable...great pool, beautiful beach, best beach walks ever. Complex is located on a super convenient spot on 30-A...away from the touristy crowds, but close to seafood market, big grocery store, and wonderful restaurants (the best on the panhandle). Bike rental places will deliver to your door. Condo owner is very accommodating and arrangements are hassle free. You will not regret visiting Blue Lupine!
We had a wonderful time at Blue Lupine. This condo is very family friendly! The furnishings are lovely, but durable. We did not spend our time worrying about fragile items, but enjoyed the beachy, sturdy, fun, decor. The owner is so easy to work with and the local contact could not have been more helpful. This unit is near the back of the building, but still has a nice view of the ocean. We were so pleased with the beautiful water, white sand and lack of oil or tar!
