Lake Simcoe Estate Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Privately Owned!!

**URGENT NOTE --- for over a year we have had a tremendous techno-glitch difficulty WITH VRBO's emailing system that can NOT be changed/affected positively, thus PLEASE email us direct to OR phone to 1-705-835-0959 (you are MORE than welcome to STILL write through the VRBO website, understanding that it may be days or weeks before we see your request!)

For your privacy we accept email payment instrument.

Please note we NEVER update or keep current the calendar - for our property protection, and that of privacy for our guests.

NO response of inquiry will occur without a return phone number by which to communicate.

This IS the closest private property for rent to the main chalet (skiing/golf/adventure park) IN THE ENTIRE Valley. Nothing else comes close. REMEMBER .... you get what you pay for!! Totally Turn-Key (no 'extra' charges for linens, cleaners, tv, and the like as you will experience / read of other properties for rent; a VERY different lifestyle-experience from what we provide)

We've traveled with VRBO and appreciate ALL the homes people have opened to us. WE know what must be delivered for a professional experiential joyous accommodations for you and yours!!

Welcome to a very special property, one of the 'original' homes, at The Resort in Horseshoe Valley. This home backs on to the 18th fairway of the lower 'Valley' course (there are two golf courses for you to choose from - sports, meals, etc. not incl. in pricing for rental). CORPORATE & EXTENDED STAYS AVAILABLE

**SPECIAL NOTE .... For those who don't know the area intimately, some people seem to think this couldn't POSSIBLY be as close to the ski hills as it is. It IS a five minute walk AT MOST to Resort Main Chalet, Inn and skiing/golf, et al. The photo of sun setting over the ski hills IS taken FROM the deck off Living Room w/JUST a Blackberry and NO zoom. It's a SPECTACULAR property folks. Property IS one of FOUR ONLY to fully face the ski hills and back on to golf course IN THE ENTIRE VALLEY. It is THAT beautiful here and unique to all other surrounds in the Horseshoe Valley Resort Area****

Also, please know that we are ALWAYS going to be far more private than staying at the Resort OR at the Inn, Carriage Hills, Lodges, etc., because it IS in a PRIVATE EXCLUSIVE EXECUTIVE property. Cleanliness, Decorum, Civility, Luxury Accommodations is what's offered to those spending time at this FABULOUS place!!!!

From the living room, kitchen ****(The KITCHEN has just completed a renovation/restoration including all new counter-tops, floor tiles, back-splash surround and STAINLESS STEEL Appliances throughout as at November 1st, 2011), and decking outback, you sit on that 18th fairway, AND face the ski hills, main Inn of the resort, and main chalet. There are plenty of teak wood chairs and tables for you and your friends, as well as an almost new Vermont Castings Gas BBQ for your endless grilling pleasures.

The BBQ also comes replete with utensils, cast iron pots, pans and griddles for you more 'experienced' grillers. There are fantastic trails for your outdoor pleasure, and an abundance of wildlife (from turkey, to deer, pheasant and the occasional badger, groundhog and squirrels).

At the Inn they have a full service spa, swimming pools, sauna, hot tub, racquetball, bikes for rent, gift shop and two really great dining restaurants. At the main chalet are more dining areas, rental equipment for skiing or golf, biking and Segway Tours, and another gift shop.

The Resort now has it's ADVENTURE PARK in full gear; Zip-lining, Zorbing, Wall/Rock Climbing, Mini-Putt, Skateboard Section, Horseback Riding, Segway Tours and the TreeTopTrekking (see resort for pricing).

The massive Copeland Forest trail system starts right at the foot of the roadway .... forget the gym; go hike, bike, ride, walk through the forest trails --- great Cross-Country area during Winter as well (see Cross-Country Main Chalet to purchase tickets for that seasonally).

Once you arrive, unless you need to head in to town, park your vehicle and walk everywhere you wish to go from the house. The 'Silks' restaurant at the Inn is four star dinning - fabulous! Just 5 miles up the road are two more restaurants, as well as a decent full-sized proper grocery store (with a prepared foods section), LCBO (liquor store) and BEER Store, Gas Station, Artisans, Medical Office, Dentist, Veterinarian.

The property you will be in has been renovated LITERALLY from top to bottom over the past two years, even including the roof! The beds have rarely been used, and just purchased in the Fall two years ago (they are 5 k beds each - very high end - luxury comfort).

All bedding and linens are top shelf (laundry will be done for you - we are environmentally friendly and shall agree with you when you should wish your bedding washed, and towels during extended stays). All furniture is brand new, save a few choice antiques for character (like a desk built by my Great Uncle for my Great Aunt over 90 years ago!).

All electronic devices are high end (Panasonic Plasma TV, DVD Player, Sony Stereo, etc.) Every closet has quite a stock of solid wood hangers, pants hangers and the thicker plastic shirt hangers.

The fireplace is cozy and right at your feet in the Living room area. There is a stock of wood down the lower deck, to which you may help yourself and enjoy. Speaking of the Living room, that is where you will find a huge window facing the ski hills, and golf course, as well as the sliding glass door out to the back deck area which has all the teak outdoor furniture and BBQ.

The kitchen is complete with enough place settings for fourteen, as well as many over-sized serving trays, bowls, etc. There are 'the usual' with toaster, juicer, measuring cups, ice-cream dishes, wine decanter, glasses a plenty, knives, cutting boards, vases, and on and on. Again, all items are new and top-shelf.

Please know that we are an environmentally appreciative lot and utilize services such as Bullfrog Power to aid in sustainability!

(For your safety, please note that there is a fire station not 3 miles away, an Ambulance station 7 miles, and a world class hospital just 15 minutes to the South in Barrie, and another approximately the same distance to the Northeast in Orillia

**Please remember this is our PRIVATE FAMILY HOME. For what ever the reason people seem to forget manners (presuming they have them) and present a stance of entitlement in this world. Don't bring that to our front door ... we won't permit those presenting with inappropriate behaviour, carriage, and the like, entry. We turn away full 90% of those WANTING to rent the property' for OUR own protection, and that for a future and returning guests. Know we videotape ALL contents in the property, of the property and surrounds; we also have an extensive external surveillance system. Boisterous activity won't be tolerated and is never acceptable in a family environment such as this. Drug and related WILL be greeted by the OPP. ANY desecration to our property will be charged against the damage security deposit; additions too will be invoiced and court proceedings facilitated.

About Pleased to answer any query!

Hello There!!!! .... and welcome to VRBO in Horseshoe Valley!!!! Family has been her for over a half-century now ... sort of know the lay-of-the-land a bunch :). Always lived 'in valley' and adore the intimacy yet openness that provides.

This fine property is right at The Resort (ski/golf/spa/hike/bike) and aside the CopeLand Forest Crown Land (Hunting in-season).

Been an outdoorsperson my entire life --- tough with the six-inch heels, so keep those for the charity galas, running in to town, and corporate meetings where I enjoy being on tippy-toes.

Skier of Mountains in Taos, NM, Mt, Hood, OR, CO, and so forth, Adore ALL things NC, TX, LA. Have great Texan and Louisiannan blood in my viens, which keeps me cooler than others in the heat of Summer. Freeze in Winter, yet love the snow and just wear two ski suits to compensate.

Love drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Dancing under the stars, being ever captured by the everything of life, astounded by human nature, and desirous of a fine REAL RED MEAT DINNER as often as possible.

Have acquaintences and loved ones around the world, and enjoy having 'visiting' folks come-back around when they can.

Can't stand chaos or clutter. Adore peace and diligence. Desire joy and hope for all, and will work hard to achieve :)

Started VRBOing years ago through a familial relation and haven't stopped ---- it's a fine way to 'share' that which you take pride (one would hope) and engage others' places for a different vibe when in a new (or returning) local.

Write/call when you want. Stay as often as you can. Know that this IS the best place in The Valley for family, friends and good peace of soul!!!

See you soon!

Another great weekend in the Valley

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed ourselves so much last time, and the accommodations and features of this rental are so complete, that we returned again a year later. It felt a bit like returning home. Our host was welcoming as usual, and gave us just enough of a reminder of the important details that we'd need for our stay. For those who have never been here, the features and bedrooms are just as described, and has everything you could ever need for a weekend getaway. We spent a good part of our Saturday in the outdoors, taking in the activities at the resort (tubing and snowshoeing). So warmth and ambiance from the fireplace was so welcome. It really made things cozy, especially in the evenings. All in all, everything we were looking for in a getaway weekend. Looking forward to spending some more time here in the future.

Well Appointed, Cozy Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house with another family and it worked out very well for a short ski get away. The first thing I'd like to comment on is the owner's approach to renting the property. They like to do it the old-fashioned way and to use a personal touch. This means that there's lots of trust involved. Although I wasn't sure about paying for the entire stay when I booked, after talking to the owner I decided to go ahead. It all worked out fine. If this is a concern, there is insurance available through VRBO.

The home was exactly as represented in the photos (except that the master bedroom is bigger than it appears). The rooms and furnishings were very comfortable and in good condition. One thing to note is that there is a bar at the kitchen with four bar chairs but there is no formal dining table. If a large group wishes to eat together there is a large coffee table in the living room which can be used. The kitchen truly does have everything you could need for cooking. The living room was a cozy space to hang out in.

The owner was very responsive and friendly. We had a great chat as we were oriented to the property and they made it clear that we could contact them with any additional needs. The location is great - we watched skiers from the living room window. It was a bit too far for the younger members of our group to walk to the lifts, but the drive really was about 1 minute and parking was easy. All in all, this was a really nice fit for our group of 7 and we had a great time. We are already chatting about a return in the warmer weather!

HIGHLY Recommend. Elegant caring owners!

Great Place. Especially for outdoors people it's terrific. A real base-lodge for all your action in the resort and surrounding area. For a few years we've stayed at their property and have enjoyed returning. It's starting to feel like 'our' place; we always know what we're walking in to, and have no concerns as some may have when walking in to an unknown, like renting through a service like VRBO.

We appreciate the times we've been there, and would like to thank my wife for reminding me to post this review. Life gets busy! We'd recommend based on our several stays, without hesitation.

Great weekend at Horseshoe Valley

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time renting in the area, though we've stayed in the Inn a few times, several years ago. What a perfect choice we landed upon. This home had everything we needed for a winter family ski weekend. The blazing fireplace was the just the best, for the late afternoon and evening, gathered for dinner, playing games, or just kicking back. There is always a bit of uncertainty when you rent a place over the internet. Will it be as good as the pictures or the write up? Well, this place really was! The owner greeted us upon arrival, and was very attentive to the details when showing us around; going out of the way to ensure our stay would be as good as possible, and all our expectations would be met. We really appreciated that. For those looking for a rental for a getaway with family or friends, would definitely recommend. And we haven't tried golf season yet ....

Owner's Response: Sorry it has taken SO long to respond. I 'saved' the VRBO notification of your review, and could not recall our password to the account for the life of me. I finally had a few minutes to enter every combination of garage door openers, friend's birth-dates, weird numerical combos and VOILA, got it!!!Thank you for your review. It's such a treat when people DO make and take the time to post one. Many people do not - not of displeasure, or unkind; just time passing, and lives SO filled. THAT said, however, we all know ESPECIALLY in an environment such as a 'VRBO' one really DOES rely (if not AT LEAST 'look to') the "reviews" to suggest a 'guidance' for properties World Wide. You made mention of being golfers, and possibly returning one day to celebrate life during that season in The Valley. Though life can ALWAYS change to the direction we hope, we do so look forward to having you attend again.YOU, and others specifically posting reviews here (and certainly others whom have not) ARE the reason we WILL let-out our place. You (to/for us) are AS us and proper/caring with ALL aspect of others lives. We are GENERALLY all TRULY strangers to each other, and placing an intimacy of time in each others' lives. You ARE entrusting that which we declare of our place IS that which you will encounter/engage upon arrival. WE have to have those for whom we open the front door ARE as we feel and vet.Truly lovely people!!!

Delightful and wonderful winter gateway comfortable and modern house

  • 5 of 5

This is the second time, our family has stayed in this lovely home for our winter long weekend. With very easy access to all that Horseshoe offers (downhill and nordic skiing, snowshoeing, snow tubing and other things) and also close to Hardwood Hills and other ski resorts as well, it is a great location. The house itself has three nice bedrooms with fabulously comfortable beds and more than sufficient storage and closet space, upgraded bathrooms and a great common/central area with a super fireplace. There is a kitchen counter that seats 4 people and a nice updated kitchen that is super easy to prepare meals in and overlooks the common area so all are able to commune together easily. A large deck with an overview of the golf course, ski hills and part of the nordic ski trails complements the common room and the kitchen. There is ample parking, easy access, and as stated by the owner, an extensive and fully supplied and stockpiled kitchen utensils, crockery, plates, appliances etc. We will be back in 2015!

Owner's Response: Hello Folks Another year past (JUST), and now looking to 2105. Good heavens where DOES time go? Thank you ever so kindly for your return to our place, and the care to which you engage. You know you are more than welcomed back when your busy lives some permit. We've often wished that 'meidums' such as these reviews had a manner by which folks with the properties could RATE the TRAVELLERS/visitors; it would an interesting commentary based on that which we encounter in just vetting potential guests. YOU and YOURS are definitely those whom we would dearly enjoy opening our home. Many blessings!

Family Christmas vacation

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 5 expatriated Canadians who wanted to get back to snow after 2 years living in Peru and almost 3 years without seeing snow. Horseshoe Resort was a favorite weekend destination for xc skiing and occasional downhill skiing while living in King City and we wanted to return and give the kids an opportunity for downhill skiing while we could easily sneak off to the Nordic trails.

Another contributing reason for renting a house was that we wanted friends and family to be able to visit us while we were back in Ontario.

We were rewarded with our choice as there was just a short walk to the groomed Nordic trail where it crosses the street after passing in front of the yard. There was a great view of the hill and we could see slalom competitions and the New Years Eve fireworks.

The house was luxuriously decorated and wonderfully appointed. The owners made an effort to decorate with tasteful seasonal decorations which made it very homey during the holidays. The beds were very comfortable. The BBQ was top of the line.

The owner is very gracious and neighbourly.

Owner's Response: Leanne and Family It is with decided honour we receive your review, and wish to thank you, again, for taking such fine care of our property whilst your family returned to your 'homeland' this Holiday Season past. Understanding a bit that we do of your world, taking the time to pen such an overview/missive is really quite lovely, will NEVER be forgotten, and truly appreciated. It's important to us that the few times a year we let-out our property it is to those whom (understandably) will take care of/protect it, as well as enjoy that which WE adore, and put forth in availability. Fully less than ten percent of those whom WANT to stay with us (NOT 'just' those whom write in or call a 'random' query) are then 'invited' to then register and rent our place. It's REALLY quite an (oddly) extensive process to 'vet' folks through as often it's us helping them find the REAL place they should be looking to stay out, as opposed to our, et al. Places at the resort service and care for the market segment VERY different to that which we service, and will continue to advance. Though we have annual and seasonal returning guests, GENERALLY complete strangers are coming to our home and the trust (from both sides) IS weighted NOT in our 'favour' within such a scenerio. As a result having you/your family/loved ones in replication has been our saving grace (especially when we get blindsided by those whom we would NEVER have, by nature, permitted ON our property, let alone IN <and when THAT happens it's a real 'hold on' for the days and nights they are in or place until vacating!!!> whom have 'slipped-through-the-cracks'. Please know, as mentioned prior at your departure, you are MORE than welcome to return when/if our place at Horseshoe could ever be in your future travel-use plans (or if your return could become 'annual' over the next few years of your journey/adventure). Now that you know an updated-feel of Horseshoe Valley, and that which one can endeavour to do, it may be even more fulfilling (though I am not sure how as you and the folks in The Loft were Holiday-Blessed with TRULY the best snow seen/skied/hiked/snowshoed in almost fifty years, AND you seemingly utilized EVERY 'sport' here!). AND it's STILL SNOWING there!! STILL!!! :) Oh, and thank you for the "apron" - we'll see if Mrs.or Mr. Claus wears thah next year!!!! **it's only -27 here today ---- how is it South of the Equator -- wait, I don't 'need' to know :) Cheers!

No smoking or pets in OR on property ever. EVERYTHING in home is top-shelf, from the lines, to the furniture, utensils, plates, electronics and beds, you'll want for nothing except more time.
