A Gem in the “Heart of Paris”
This very clean studio unit was so perfect for the two of us for the 9 nights we were in Paris. The layout is great and it is jam packed with all the essentials, including a dishwasher, wash machine, iron and ironing board and lots of bath towels, and dish towels, which for Europe is really a bonus. Don’t worry about any consumable necessities, as Laurent, the owner of this apartment, has stocked it well, with toilet paper, paper towel, dish soap, garbage bags and laundry soap. I sent him an email as I wanted to find out where to buy some sewing thread and guess what, he even had a little sewing kit in the apartment. We delighted in the mid-stay cleaning, which included a change of the bed sheets, in addition to the apartment being cleaned.
The apartment could not be more central to all the things you will want to see. We like to walk, so walked everywhere, to Sacre Cour Basilica (the highest land point in Paris), the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysses and Arch de Triumph, Notre Dame, Pantheon, the Gardens of Luxenburg, and the museums of course. You are only about 4 blocks from the Louvre, which is great, as it is the largest museum in the world and you will need to make more than one visit to this museum. Lots of the museums are open one evening a week, so it was nice to walk over after dinner and spend a few more hours there. Shopping, markets an subway are also close by.
I have only wonderful, positive comments to say about Laurent, who speaks English as well as we do in North America. He made the reservation process easy, allowing us to pay both the deposit and final payment on PayPal. He was always prompt replying to all my emails and I had many, as I was usually asking a question about something. Laurent asked for our flight information as we were flying in from Italy and were not using our cell phone while in Europe. He said he would check our flight to see if it was on time and would meet us at the apartment. We took a cab from the airport (65E) and upon our arrival, as promised, Laurent was waiting for us at the apartment to give us the keys and show us how to use the wash machine and answer any questions we might have. A lovely fresh bouquet of flowers and a lovely bottle of French wine were also there to greet us.
I use VRBO to book accommodation when we travel. This listing caught my eye because of so many current and really great comments from people who have stayed here. Having now stayed here it is understandabl
