My aunt and uncle have had a home on this court since 1946. I grew up with them and their daughter, my cousin, every summer of my life! What a lucky girl. When a cottage on the same court became available in 1976, we bought it. Since then, the termites had a field day and it needed to be torn down and rebuilt. We did that in 2008 and have been renting it ever since.
My husband and I live in San Jose. I'm not desperate to rent this home but will share it with people who have families and will not smoke or party. This is an exceptional court and I would never want to inconvenience or disturb my neighbors. I am very picky when it comes to renters.
Janet purchased this house in 1976
Why Janet chose Mission Beach
This is a perfect home for multiple generation to enjoy a vacation together.
What makes this house unique
It's on a quiet court with no cars nearby. It has a two car garage which is a big plus at Mission Beach. It is within walking distance of a large supermarket, many restaurants and a large hotel with boat rentals and a spa.
Guestbook comments from the manager
I can't believe the space. Where do I begin, Jon said he loved the idea of going upstairs and going to sleep in the cool bedroom on the very top with the sound of the ocean to put him to sleep. Actually, I loved the idea that we could get away from the group if we wanted to have out own space. I know Jon loved the hot shower in the morning. Thw showers are incredible; I loved every one of them, the tile choices, colors, glass doors, etc. It was fun having our family come too. One day we had mom and dad come out for the day. They loved sitting in the living room looking out at the ocean. They were so pleased to be invited. We played cards, ate, rested, took them up to the seawall. Dad and Jon sat out on the patio enjoying the out of doors. With mom just turning 90 and dad at 93, it was an easy place to come and just relax for the day.
During our week there, my sister from South Dakota was visiting so it was a treat for her to be at the beach as well. She still sits in the sun for a tan.
Our kids loved coming out and bringing their kids too. We always went shell hunting at low tide, which was almost every morning that week. I would open my eyes in the morning to two little girls looking at me (waiting for me to wake up) and saying, "Gram, will you take us shell hunting?"
For me, I loved the kitchen and the big table for eating. It was usually full for every meal.
I think you did a phenomenal job decorating the house. I love every aspect of it. Emma (age 5) said, "Look, there's a library by the steps".
Thank you for letting us enjoy a week at the beach. It is one we will always remember.
