Comfortable older home .Built in the 50's has been partly remodeled. Nice back yard with pool. Close to malls, airport, walk to light rail, 10 minutes to downtown, for games and great activities. Cross streets: Camelback and 7th Ave. Phoenix. THis location is very centrally located. Easy to get to all areas of metro Phoenix. Light Rail 4 blocks, Can ride to Tempe, Mesa, Downtown Phoenix.

Notes: THere is a private pool, BUT IT IS NOT HEATED, I don't go in until end of may But I am a baby ,anything before is at your own risk. Nice to sit by and look at the other months.

My Rates are very reasonable, I Want people who will take care of it.Plus,this is an older home in an older neighborhood.Built in the 50's. Houses are well kept.Not a fancy neighbood ,homes are maintained. this home has been partially remodeled but does have some old features like single pane windows. small bathrooms etc It could still use some more remodeling,If you are looking for the 'perfect everything home THIS IS NOT ITt. IT is very comfortable, with a nice back yard, and pool .Very centrally located, close to downtown and easy access to all subburbs . There is also an apartment at the end of the home, does have separate entrance, but Washer and Dryer are shared, which is off the back patio. Steve and Jeannie live in apt on the end, Steve is the caretaker, if you have problems let him know.

They are quiet and you won't see much of them. Steve is the caretaker and fixes things that need to be fixed, He will meet you with the key and help with whatever needed. I live in Prescott 2 hours away. thanks barb

There is Internet to the home but no computer on site. I bring my laptop down when I go.I have BASIC cable TV only.

Several courses, 2 city courses fairly close by

Other Activities:

lots of hiking close by, convention center and chase ball field 6 miles close to Barrows and Phoenix Childrens Hospital

Cosy retreat

Just returned from 7 days at this cosy house-nicely decorated and well kept-backyard and pool a nice treat-very quiet area-only 10 minutes from downtown-many resturants only 5 minutes away-enjoyed our time there would recommend for any adult get away

Great vacation home

We stayed here for a week and greatly enjoyed the very nicely kept and cozy home. Neighbors are great and the neighborhood is quiet. Access to many areas and close to the airport. Would definitley stay here again with my family on my visits to Phoenix. Barbara has many brochures for things to do on your stay in case you are stuck. Love it.

Great location and price

Barb's description of the property is very accurate. It was a wonderful place to stay for our 9-day visit to Phoenix. We have been in Phoenix once before and stayed in a new home in a gated complex on the far north end of the city. While that was nice, we loved the location of this home as well as the price. It suited us well for our day trips in the Phoenix area. While the weather was cooler than normal, we still enjoyed sitting in the patio/pool area and soaking in the sun when we had the chance. The fruit from the orange and grapefruit trees in the backyard was an added plus. Barb also has the added convenience of having some dry goods on hand that you wouldn't necessarily want to buy during a short stay.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers

A summer stay in Phoenix

While not recommending Arizona as a destination for July/August due to extreme heat, we needed to be there at this time for a family occasion. The house was perfect for us - one senior, two adults and 2 small girls. The air con kept us cool indoors and the pool was great! We were aware that it was not fenced off and kept the girls in flotation suits when they were in the garden. That way we could relax! The house is in a quiet location, a short drive from all the attractions of downtown. It is comfy and well maintained - perfect for a family and for seeing the sights.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
