We just got home and just quickly wanted to thank you for sharing your fantastic
home. We had such a nice week and can't stop talking about how much we loved
Maine as well as your home and gardens (and view!). As usual, we could not
fit all the activities we were hoping to accomplish into one week, but we had so
much fun hiking, canoeing, sea combing, and eating. Oh-- the kids also fit in
a lobster boat ride with Captain Jack, which they definitely enjoyed. Your
house was in the most perfect location and was such a comfortable place to
return to after a day full of adventures.
You overlook Rockport Harbor, known 'as one of the most picturesque horbors in the area'. Right out the door is Biking, hiking, sailing, lobster boat tours, day drives, excellent restaurants and fine dining, beautiful views, walking, beach, kayaking, light house tours, winery tours, Sunset Schooner Sails, ferry to Monhegan and Isleborough, Lobster Festival, sight seeing, antiquing, Farnsworth Art Museum, historical towns, friendly locals.....
Golfing: Begin your golf vacation with a course offering breathtaking ocean vistas and complete your round on one of the most challenging finishing holes in New England. Designed by Robert Eider in 1902, the course features some of the most spectacular views of Peneobscot Bay, with a granite seawall separating the golfer from the Atlantic Ocean. Samoset Resort was also qualifying event on the former Nike Tour. Recent upgrades by Maine architect Bradley Booh have strengthened the resort's reputation of having premier championship layout.
