Cottage in the Dell is a cozy little home from home in an ideal location for most of the area's attractions, its within easy reach of Asheville, Biltmore, Black Mountain, Chimney Rock, Blue Ridge Parkway - - I could go on, and on, and on and on.......... It’s a great base for any activity and is easy to find halfway between Black Mountain and Asheville up a quiet lane a few hundred yards off 70.
The cottage is clean, tidy and delightfully decorated and has all the amenities you need, comfortably accommodating our party of 4 adults plus one large dog, plenty of room inside as well as a large yard. It’s located in a rural area, and to prove it, we woke each day to a morning chorus of several cock’s crowing, something we have not heard for many years, delightful and so much more relaxing than an alarm clock! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner at the cottage one night and then we ate out “on the town” in Asheville the second night.
Of the two days we were there we spent one hiking to waterfalls on the Blue Ridge Parkway (at the Graveyard Fields, West of Asheville just passed Pisgah Mountain) and the second we spent at Chimney Rock enjoying the fantastic views over Lake Lure. We recommend both for the more active-minded!!!
Overall a great relaxing break from our busy lives in the Triangle and the Cottage in the Dell was a great base from which to enjoy it.
