We live in Silicon Valley, miles from fresh air, towering trees, and elbow room. For over 20 years, our family and extended family have made Truckee and the surrounding area our destination for our annual family vacations. We’ve rented in South Lake Tahoe, Tahoe City, Truckee, Squaw Valley, Tahoe Donner, Donner Lake, Kings Beach, Incline Village, and yes even Reno. Each area brought unique experiences, but the common thread through all those rentals was that it was a vacation with the family.
Michael Grodin purchased this house in 2008
Tahoe Donner has something for everyone, of every age, for every single day of the year. “There’s nothing to do” is never heard when you vacation in Tahoe Donner.

I would highly recommend this one. We have two family stayed there 1/23-1/25/2015. The owner gave us VERY detail information from their web site with all local people (he lives in bay area now I believe) suggestion so you don't have to worry about where to go, what to eat, and all possible information you may want to know. There is a big book in the kitchen providing you all useful information. Compare the price, service, and house condition, they are really good. Of course you may have a rental house with luxury furniture and new condition, but if you are considering a vacation and living in a place with nice location (to ski or restaurants), feeling like a house, this is the one. Thank you!
A group of us stayed there for New Years Eve. The house was the perfect size for our group. We enjoyed using the kitchen to make meals and spending the evenings after snowboarding in the hot tub unwinding. A binder is provided with ALL information ever necessary for your stay.
I would gladly recommend this place to anyone I know in a heartbeat. The owners are responsible, responsive, and they have a lovely home that they've clearly put a lot of love into. Close to the slopes and to grocery stores - this was exactly what we were looking for and more! Thank you for the wonderful stay.
I've stayed here a few times and I keep coming back because I know it will be clean, easy and have everything I could need: FULL kitchen, hot tub, plenty of space for everyone. No shortcomings to speak of, definitely recommended!
I love staying at Peaceful Pines because its amenities are fabulous for any season. I have stayed at Peaceful Pines in the summer and winter and have enjoyed the home and locale more each and every time I stay. The home is located in nestled in the woods of a quiet Tahoe Donner neighborhood, which is great for a peaceful stay with friends and/or family. Peaceful Pines is a short distance to the great dining and recreation Tahoe Donner has to offer for all ages, all-year round. And if you're not sure of what to do, the owners of Peaceful Pines have a great resource binder to lead you straight to both food and fun! But if you choose to stay in, the Peaceful Pines home has luxurious amenities to keep you entertained in comfort: a gas fireplace, huge HDTV with cable and a DVD library, Nintendo Wii, cards and boardgames, high-speed wireless internet (with a apple desktop computer in the master bedroom) and hot tub. I also enjoy the ability to have a "home away from home" with a full kitchen and washer/dryer available in the home. Peaceful Pines also makes me feel at home because it has nearly everything provided for you - from linens and towels to soap and shampoo/conditioner, they thought of everything! But perhaps the most amazing thing about Peaceful Pines is that it is 100% allergy friendly - I never have to worry about my severe allergies when I stay. I encourage families, couples or any luxury-minded traveler to stay at Peaceful Pines any time of year because the home and the locale has so much to offer.
Perfect stay in a delightful home. All the comforts were ready and waiting for us. We loved the location because it was close to everything but all tucked away too. The house was in excellent condition with lots of attention to details. The owner could not have been more helpful and made our stay more than we had hoped. Skiing at Donner was perfect for our family and the long list of recommendations by the owner were very helpful.
Great cabin with an awesome layout. Went with my company for an end of year trip for the 3rd season. The cabin offers wifi and a hot tub and two flat screens. The loft has an area for nintendo wii and games. Overall the cabin is awesome and great place to stay on North Lake for not only younger ones but any age!
Located on Tyrol Road near Glacer View Drive.
Other Activities: Golf and Tennis Lessons, private beach and marina
Golf: Tahoe Donner offers 18-holes of championship golf only minutes from the front door. Driving range, pro shop, lessons, and rentals are available. Several other courses are located within a 30 minute drive.
Ski: Just up the street you will find cross country and downhill skiing. There is also a snow play area that includes the equipment and fun. The area to the right of our house is flat, and with a little effort, you can make your own sled runs.
