Wilkins Landing II

5 of 5
Submitted: June 28, 2009 Stayed: October 2008
My wife and I have stayed at Wilkins Landing II on several occasions, for both long weekends and entire weeks. What brings us back is both the location and the cozy atmosphere. When we are at the cottage we can unwind from our busy lives, enjoy a fire in the fireplace, listen to the wind thru the trees, and enjoy the very private lakefront setting. And when we want, the convience of Traverse City and surrounding area are but a short drive away. And speaking of driving, we love the many great golf courses in the region.
We have always found "WL II" clean and comfortable and recommend it for a northern Michigan getaway !!!

Our quick winter get away was just like a dream. Great location, very peaceful and beautiful views. The house was warm and cozy and the bed was very comfortable, we didnt want to leave. Kathy is a great host, we didnt give her much notice and she put together our stay with much professionalism and her hospitality was very refreshing. Cant wait to stay again. Scott & Linda McAnalley

Just The Vacation We Needed!

5 of 5
Submitted: September 9, 2011 Stayed: July 2011
This was the perfect vacation for us to take our 8 year old grandson. This picturesque site from the cottage overlooking the lake is perfect for feeling “away from it all” and getting back to nature. The daily swimming and fishing were great and we even had a couple of fish fries. Although you can’t swim off the shoreline, the boat made this a fantastic deal for us and is terrific for cruising the lake, fishing, boating to the sanding island beaches and swimming in the middle of the lake. Daily wildlife sightings and nightly campfires were thrilling. The cabin is very rustic but is sufficient with everything needed including great views of the lake through large oversized windows, cable tv, wireless internet access and a huge shaded deck overlooking the private yard and lake. Although it felt secluded, the cabin is only about 10 minutes drive to Traverse City activities and dining which we took advantage of a couple of times. Kathy & Rolf are very good host that only come around if they are needed. Last, we’re told, our grandson still talks about his adventures at Wilkins II everyday and his memories of a great time with us made it very much worth while. We will be back!

My Husband and I were looking for a quiet place to unwind and enjoy a week of relaxation. Being able to bring our dog was a must and not too many places allow pets. Kathy's directions & instructions were very clear. My Husband really enjoyed the fact that we had use of a pontoon boat and our "Sable" loved going for swims. On the days the weather didn't cooperate, we visted the local Wineries, downtown Traverse City, the Casinos & a couple of our favorite restaurants out on Mission Point and Suttons Bay. We ate most of our meals in which helped with our budget. We met Rolf one day who was very very nice. We would definitely recommend this cottage and would like to return again some day.

Snowmobile vacation

Wilkins II was a great place to get away from it all and still be where the action is. It felt secluded but was just a few minutes away from anything we wanted to do. The cabin was clean and stocked so we didn't have to bring things like bed cloths or pots and pans. Although a bit dated it was extremely comfortable and a joy to hang out in. The deck would be a great place for a hot tub for summer and winter use. Kathy was super accommodating giving great directions and helpful hints about the area. I would recommend this rental to anyone and plan on going back again myself.
