Perfect Surfing Trip/Honeymoon

The wife and I are avid surfers, that is why we are married! We wanted the best possible surfing we could get at a budget price and Costa Rica proved more than we could have dreamed. This home was beautiful and had more than we could have ever wanted as all we needed was the outdoor shower and chair hammocks. The wireless internet allowed us to keep in contact with family and friends back home, though we didn't use it after the first day except for wave forcasting. The location is perfect for those wanting to surf Playa Hermosa and not deal with the crowds of Jaco. We literally surfed for 5 days straight, all day! This area still has places where you will be the only ones out and the waves are extrodinary. We had 3 perfect days of 5-6ft waves and then a south swell showed up with heights in the 10-12ft range. The beach breaks around the area do tend to closeout at that height but we still went out for our dawn sessions to surf by ourselves. We went to a point break (only a gorgeous 1 hour drive from the house) called boca barranca for our afternoon/evening sessions during the swell to find perfect long lefts. I think we can guarantee that they were the best waves of our lives and we lived in hawaii for a while. I say that because we are goofy footed and we surfed some of the longest waves of our lives by ourselves for at least 1 hour every session. We didn't do any sightseeing or activities besides surfing though I do recommend pulling over at the crocodile bar and walking out on the bridge to see real costa rica wildlife. Every time we came back from the beach the warm real wood furniture of the house greeted us along with an iguana that lives next to the entrance gate. We will be turning this into a yearly trip and hope to return to this house until we can afford to buy our own! Also, the more famous and even longer point break pavones is only 4 hours away from the house so we still have much to do!
Special thanks to Aileen for opening up your home to us and the groundskeeper Carlos who greeted us at the door even though we were 5 hours late arriving due to rental car mix ups. The Ticos are an amazing people and we were welcome wherever our 1st grade spanish took us. No obligations just Pura Vida!
