According to legend, the small town of Windsor was named after a Pony Express rider who thought the area's landscape was reminiscent of grounds surrounding Windsor Castle in his native England. Nestled along the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County, this quaint town was aptly named and has deep roots in farming and, more recently, winemaking. Near our Sonoma rentals you'll enjoy the area's family-owned wineries and the newly constructed Old Downtown, a development that brings to life Windsor's past, including the old general store and meat market. Lively restaurants abound, and the Town Green also hosts a Sunday Farmer's Market from May through November and concerts on summer nights. Adjacent to our Sonoma County condo rentals is the challenging Windsor Golf Course, host to six PGA Nike events. Windsor is also home to more than 1,000 acres of regional parkland, and it is the liftoff point of the annual Sonoma County Hot Air Balloon Classic.

This property is in a beautiful spot and has many positives. We found more negatives than the last time we visited. These included, a dishwasher that was twice looked at but never repaired, a refrigerator that was not properly positioned, beds that sagged excessively, and the inability to use the swimming pool which was supposedly under repair but with no one working on it and being skimmed for leaves each day. Otherwise a good choice for a holiday in California
