Perfect Getaway

This very spacious home was the perfect setting for our July 4th weekend getaway. Our group of friends with toddlers and school-aged children enjoyed the easy walk down to the beach. The home is in a more secluded location, but the town of Aptos is only a few miles north if you need access to a bank, grocery store, drug store, and restaurant with a great breakfast menu (The Red Apple Cafe). It is also close enough to take a short drive into Santa Cruz and surrounding areas for a day trip (The Boardwalk, The Mystery Spot-advanced ticket sales only, and Roaring Camp Railroads). On your way into Santa Cruz, there is an unique coffee shop (Java Lounge) where you can grab a quick beverage and breakfast sandwich/wrap.
The home does get warm with the setting summer sun, but this can be easily remedied with a couple of open windows and sliding glass doors. Also, there is no grill available so you must forgoe the traditional BBQ fanfare and cook using the oven/stove. However, the awesome bay views, hypnotizing sounds of the crashing waves, and the refreshing ocean breeze make up for any minor inconveniences.
