Wonderful quiet Maine getaway

The cottage on Steamboat Wharf was a wonderful place to stay the description of the cottage was right one . Although there was room for six it was just my husband and I but had we had more there would have been plenty of room. It made our stay a "just like home" stay, the house was so clean, the kitchen was amazing and the fact that there was a washer and dryer was a great bonus since we had been traveling for several days before and would be traveling for several days after our stay. We do not always like to "eat out" so making meals was a pleasure here, the cottage was so comfortable that a few nights we just hung out, cooked dinner and watched TV. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a suggestion page of things to do or places to see. We were fortunate to meet the owner and visit with him for a short period of time, what a super nice person. We found many things to do and see as we had been in this area before, but the day before we left was a stay at home day, we walked down to the wharf, met and talked to some lobstermen and just hungout for close to three hours watching the boats being unloaded, it was very interesting. We went to Bar Harbor, Acadia Nationl Park two places we love to visit and drove all over just enjoying the scenery. Would I recommend this cottage? ABSOLUTELY!! It was clean, comfortable, spacious, quiet, we loved our stay! Thanks Marty for a wonderful "Home Away From Home"!!
Owner's Response: I am so happy that families when they stay at the Steamboat Wharf House in Bernard feel like they are at home. The community of Bernard is welcoming to visitors. It is a neighborhood where neighbors know neighbors, were you can leave doors unlocked, were children can ride their bikes and feel safe. A neighborhood were you can walk to the post office, library or the beach.
The Steamboat Wharf House is set up to support families when they return from a trip to the beach, walk in Acadia National park or a visit to Bar Harbor with the amenities to prepare a meal and a place to relax. It is a "Home Away From Home".
