Located in the small fishing village of Bernard on Mt. Desert Island, Maine. The house overlooks Bass Harbor and the comings and goings of the Swans Island ferry, It is within walking distance of fishing wharfs, antique stores, art galleries, the post office, the library and a bus stop for the Island Explorer, a free transportation system for the entire island. Thurstons Lobster wharf is just down the hill, and it's a short walk to Back Beach, a wonderful coastal shoreline for walking, exploring, and viewing the passing boat traffic. The house is 10 minutes from the Ships Harbor nature walk in Acadia National Park, minutes from Southwest Harbor on the Quietside of Mt. Desert, and 30 minutes from Bar Harbor. Enjoy biking, hiking, kayaking, and enjoying the Downeast culture of the quiet coastal village of Bernard.
