My brothers and I traveled up to this cabin on July 16, 2014 and departed on July 20, 2014. This year we added an additional day to our stay and it was well worth it.
The cabin has just about everything you need from dishes, kitchen utensils, bathroom supplies, cleaning supplies, coffee supplies, tape, glue, fans, tools, cards, board games, lighter fluid, charcoal and more.
As before the interior of the cabin was very clean and welcoming. The nights were perfect for star watching and relaxing by the fire. I highly recommend walking down by the Johnson Bridge and exploring the river on the left side of the bride. The water is only knee deep for a ways down the river. If you’re feeling adventurous walk through the tunnels under the bridge and that will lead you back to the cabin.
Once again a perfect 10 out of 10!
We would like to personally thank the owners for their cooperation and communication with us before our stay once again.
We will be booking this perfect cabin in the woods for part 3 next year!
Our family stayed at this lovely cabin retreat and found the accommodations perfect. The kids loved sleeping in the loft, and we had plenty of room. Our only complaint would have to be the rowdy neighbors across the river - I understand it was the holiday weekend, but we weren't expecting to have music playing from morning until night along with loud conversations that could easily be heard. That said, we enjoyed our stay. The cabin had everything we needed including a Keurig, toaster, and plenty of great cooking pans. We used the firepit every night and the back deck facing the river was beautiful. We went kayaking in nearby Elbow Lake, and tubing down the big Manistee river as well. We also canoed on the Little M! Thank you!
My brothers and I traveled up to this cabin on July 18, 2013 and departed on July 21, 2013. We wished we had another month to stay at this perfect cabin in the woods.
The cabin is clean, unique, and very comfortable. It’s a home away from home. The river is a stone’s throw from the cabin back deck and the yard it sits on is perfect for any outdoor activities you and/or your family may want to do such as bocce ball, washers, volleyball, and bean bag toss. The yard also has large fire-pit that is conveniently right off the deck. If you need fire wood it’s just a short 10 minute drive into downtown Irons next to Jackie's Place for fire wood.
The interior of the cabin will sleep up to 8 people very comfortable just as the description reads and if you think you may have forgot something at home the cabin will have you covered. It has numerous first aid amenities, towels, kitchen utensils and cleaning supplies so don't worry.....you'll be all set!
This cabin exceeded our expectations on all levels. 10 out of 10! I highly recommend this cabin for a man trip, family trip, girl’s trip or just a little R & R trip. You WON'T be disappointed.
We would like to personally thank the owner for his cooperation and communication with us during our stay.
We will be booking this perfect cabin in the woods for years and years to come!
The cabin was comfortable and well provisioned. The deck out back along the river is a great place to kick back and relax. The only surprise was that there were actually quite a few neighbors. We expected a bit more isolation based on the photos, but we did not have any noise problems.
This is a wonderful cabin. Beautiful inside and out. Myself and my wife, my sister and brother-in-law, and nephew and his girlfriend spent 5 days enjoying all that the area had to offer. Jerky at the Dublin General Store, canoeing and kayaking for 4 days, outstanding fishing, and just sitting on the incredibly large deck overlooking the river. Don't let the exterior picture of the front of the cabin fool you, there are shade trees all of the way around the place. I think the picture was either taken in the late fall or early spring when the leaves weren't on. The place had everything we needed. All we had to bring was our food. Would recommend this rental to anybody, and we plan on renting again next summer.
This cabin had so much more character than described. My family had such a great week fishing from the pier in the Little Manistee and canoeing down the river back to the cabin. The location was perfect for day-long hikes through the woods and accessible to all of our favorite ATV trails. Again we would like to thank you for utilizing the cabin for our vacation and we look to rent it again soon later this summer.
