Our lake house has a stunning view of Lake Secession. At full pond, the water level is 8-9 feet at our dock. Our dock is covered for protection from the sun or showers while you fish. The rental includes use of the canoe. There is a large fire-pit and cut wood to roast marshmallows. Lake Secession is 7 miles long. It is over a mile wide at the far end. Jet skis and boats are allowed.
The second floor sun room is 30 feet long. It has a ping pong table, dart games and several rocking chairs. We have a gas fireplace. There is a gas grill and charcoal grill on the wooden deck, which is shaded with umbrellas. Play horseshoes along the lake or relax in a rocker. Central air conditioning and heat keep the house at the right temperature.
We are located near historic Abbeville, and Anderson, which are 20 minutes away. Get pampered at the Day Spa, which is the oldest house in Anderson. Clemson University is 40 minutes north. That is a great college town.
This is our 2nd time here at this wonderful rental. Our family travels from all over to come to this spot to celebrate our Christmas time with each other. My elderly grandparents love the nostalgic feel, while my children enjoy the more modern amenities. I personally love the outdoor fire pit to relax by. All in all you will not be disappointed by the value, cleanliness and character this home has to offer if you decide to visit, what I call, "The Secret of Secession"
My family of 10 had a wonderful time...The kids enjoyed the paddle boat and the canoe. The house was great, big enough where everyone had their own space. The lake was great for the whole family. Didn't catch many fish. The next door neighbors were really friendly and helpful...The family says this is a great place for vacation next year...tks..
This was an amazing place to visit. From the gorgeous country roads to the tranquil laid back rhythm of the lake, this home was very relaxing. During our stay we spent the majority of the time in the backyard utilizing many of the activities this lake home has to offer. We enjoyed the paddleboat and canoe and were able to make it up to the head of the lake and see the river that feeds it. We observed Beavers, ducks, and squirls playing on the banks. There was a rope swing that we couldnt get the kids off of. The next day we were able to head in the opposite direction and check out the main body of the lake. We packed a lunch and ate at the sandbar where we also swam. The fishing was great and there is a general store just up the road that sells live bait and limited grocieries.
We traveled 30 mins to Anderson and spent the day there and enjoyed the charmign downtown main street and visited the Fire museum.
Greenville is just an hour drive through quaint country roads. There is a very nice historic downtown district that is worth the drive. The accomidations were perfect for our family of 5 with plenty of room to have more come. The kitchen was clean and updated and convienant to the wood deck where we ate breakfast lunch and dinner.
Overall this was a fantastic place to visit and I cant wait to come back. Highly reccommended.
