More than the amazing seashells but an island flavor unmatched anywhere in FL. No stoplights, no hustle, world class fishing in gulf or Tarpon Bay with 100 islands. Bicycles are preferred ride here, paths crisscross even the preserves, cars do NOT share bikepaths, island is 40% wildlife preserve so you'll see something wild very quickly. Recycling center on site, all native plantings. Two great golf courses, playhouse theatre and movie theatre, huge, new library, famous old lighthouse, kayaking in crystal waters, specialty shops, restaurants, photography like NOWHERE in the country! It's all here. Then there's always simply lounging by the pool or at the edge of the waves 100' from your door. Do you want a really GREAT escape this year? Sanibel Island is crescent shaped and this condo is directly at the apex of the crescent's most southern point. That makes sunsets and shelling particularly unique. Sanibel is close to everything, Tampa is two hours away, Miami/Ft.Lauderdale two hours, and Disney/Orlando about three. Most of our visitors simply stay on the island, however, as there is a serene and rich nature to the place. There's golf, playhouse and movie theatre, unusual shopping (not big box stuff) and dining, groceries, tennis, a great library, kayaks, bicycling, gym and workout facilities, a wonderful fishing pier as well as charter and deep water fishing, etc. The shell museum and the wildlife preserve are awesome! Or, you could even try just sitting still on the beach as the sun sets.
