This newly renovated home was built for a crowd. Your family and friends will enjoy the spacious, open-plan living area, art-filled walls, huge deck, and picnic patio. Its scenic rolling hills and stocked pond are home to oaks, manzanita, pines, huge boulders, walking paths, deer, wild boar, bass, and birds of all sorts.

Fish, boat, swim, hike, or bike outside; play Twister, have a dance party, cook up some BBQ, or read a book inside. This wonderful property will appeal to everyone's wants and needs!

Enjoy wildflowers & ski on the same weekend. The foothills wildflowers in March, April, and May are spectacular.

* Drive 25 minutes to Sequoia Kings Canyon National Parks (the entrance is at 6500' elevation) and snowshoe and ski in a light jacket.

* Come to the California Sierras, and experience at least two seasons at once.

* The Family Retreat Home is an ideal location for your large family to get together - there's room for 12! If you can't fit them all in this house, there are 3 other homes on the same property that are available for an even larger gathering.

* Swimming, boating, hiking, biking (bring your own), indoor games, reading, visiting parks

*Art by California and European artists: The Family Retreat Home features paintings and prints on folkloric subjects by German artist Richard Engels, paintings of the California mountains by local artist Jane Ziegler, and paintings and block prints of flowers and mountain scenes by Bachrun LoMele.

Badger is a small settlement in the Sierra Nevada foothills at about 3000' elevation. It is approximately 25 minutes to the entrance of Sequoia & King's Canyon National Parks. Badger is especially beautiful in the first 6 months of the year, when greenery is abundant and wildflowers cover large tracts of land.

Us and another family stayed for a 3 day weekend in January.Wonderful property with lots of walking options.Slept 4 adults and 2 kids comfortably.Nice location for visiting the Nat'l Parks,We all agreed we would like to return in the future.Mahalia and the caretaker took care of everything we needed.Look forward to seeing them again! I would have found it more comfortable if I would have remembered to bring our own pillows. Thank you for a good value Mahalia!!

Came here for a group of friends for the weekend and had a fantastic time visiting Sequoia National Park and hanging out by the lake. It's a nice place to get away from the city and to enjoy nature. The views were absolutely gorgeous and the houses were clean and nice. Would definitely recommend!

Great getaway! Giant sequoias nearby!

Had a great weekend stay here in April 2013! The weather was gorgeous, and the giant sequoias were easily accessible nearby! The property itself is great - the accommodations are nice and the gas BBQs make it easy to cook out and relax. We also enjoyed some time by the lake, again grilling food and enjoying some bocce ball. Great place for a nature getaway!

Make sure to bring food with though -- local stores have sparse selection!

Weekend Retreat at House #3

I hope all my reservations were as fast and effortless as this one. The directions might seem a little menacing, but a good map, or a GPS will get you here very easily. The entrance is really hard to miss. This house can sleep a ton of people. It has 3 bedrooms and a huge living room that comes chock full of futons and bedding that the management provided. I loved the fact that there were tons of towels and even a laundry machine. You could live here for a week before starting on your own towels. This cabin has one of the best verandah's. The caretaker is extremely friendly and went out of his way to leave us to ourselves. We made the trip in summer, and even though it was really hot outside, the house was really comfortable once the A/C was turned on. Lots of books/board games to keep you occupied in the nights. It gets pretty dark at night, so bring a flashlight if you plan on doing anything at night.

Hint: Do NOT miss out on the Lake that is part of this resort. It has a BBQ, a few sports, and swimming and boating and lots of chairs to relax by the lake side. It was one of the most fun things about staying at this resort

We stayed here with my in-laws, my husband, and our 3 small children and were very comfortable. We used the grill, enjoyed having a full kitchen and two full baths, and were pleased with the proximity to Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. The owner was very pleasant and easy to deal with. It is a plus that there is a person who checks in on you at arrival and ensures that everything is working properly.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
