Casa Sofia was featured in a Washington Post story called 'Ernest Hemingway's Spain' in March 2009. The writer called Casa Sofia a 'lovely property in a dreamy locale.' In August 2010, the Obama family toured a Moorish castle just 50 feet away. Casa Sofia is a three-story, 400-year-old home with 3 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. Newly added is a 400 sq. ft. roof terrace with city and mountain views. The house features a cook's kitchen, private dining room and a writer's hideaway with fireplace. Equipped with satellite TV, Internet/WiFi, AC/Heat, Washer/Dryer. Three night minimum at €250 day. Starts at €900 per week. CC okay.

If you've walked the medina streets of Cordoba, Fez or Jerusalem, you'll appreciate Ronda's old town. Ronda's Phoenician squares, Roman roads & Moorish minarets are protected heritage sites. Ronda features 12 local wineries, two Michelin-rated restaurants and a 2-mile shopping district for walkers. Ronda also has some of best hiking & cycling in Europe.

This House has Duende

Ronda is easily one of the most beautiful towns in Southern Spain and Casa Sofia is in best part of Ronda's old city.

The house is mix of Arab and Spanish architecture. Tiled floors, three-foot thick, mosaic walls and lots of earth tone colors. The kitchen and bathrooms are nicely done and looked brand new.

The house is HUGE. Three stories. Two giant bedrooms. One kids bedroom. The owners actually combined two houses. Opened up a lot interior space. We loved the roof deck, which had 360 degree views of the old city and area mountains. Big thumbs up.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Nice digs

This house is in a great spot. Center of old town Ronda. We walked to everything. Museums, historic monuments, restaurants. This house is not fancy, but it has great bones. Tiled floors, moorish colors, well-designed open spaces. Bedrooms are large and nicely done. There is one master suite on the second floor. And a second master and children's bedroom on the third floor. We spent a lot of time taking our meals on the roof terrace. Good place for a cup of coffee in the morning or a gin and tonic at night.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing

Right on Ronda

Just a short blurb about Casa Sofia. We loved the open spaces, large bedrooms, and gorgeous interiors. Ronda is a postcard town in Southern Spain. And Casa Sofia is a postcard hideaway. Finding it was a snap. But parking can be tricky on Ronda's narrow roads. Over the course of one week, my family did some serious damage ... shopping, eating our way across Ronda. At the end of a long day, it was always nice to return to Casa Sofia. We got to read, relax and catch a regular nap. We also made regular use of the spectacular sun deck every morning and every night.
Owner's Response: There is street parking by Casa Sofia, but it requires some parallel parking skills. We recommend parking on Calle Santo Domingo near the Casa de Moro. This is about 50 meters from Casa Sofia.
