The house is located on 2.5 acres in Red Creek, Hampton Bays, Southampton, NY. The property and immediate area is heavily wooded, including for example 1000 acre Hubbard and Sears-Bellows county park. The house is located about 1500 feet from Peconic Bay and its sandy beaches and boating opportunities. Hampton Bays' 5 mile long pristine (unbuilt) oceanfront and beaches are only a 10 minute drive. The house while enormous has a comfortable home like feel. It is characterized by large open spaces with sweeping outdoor views and is perfect for entertaining. For example, the great room is 1500 square feet with 25 foot ceilings, but the adjoining dining room (overlooking the fish pond) is intimate. The family room with its 25 foot tall stone fireplace and 600 square feet is a comfortable, family friendly space. Besides the great room and family room, the other spaces include 5 bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, balcony bar, paneled office, sauna and finished basement with laundry.

The house is located in the northern or Red Creek section of Hampton Bays. The immediate area is populated by modern, million dollar homes. The house is walking distance to heavily wooded county parks stretching for many miles to the west. The adjoining county parks cover thousands of acres and miles of Peconic Bay waterfront. Hampton Bays is located nearly midpoint between Southampton Village and Westhampton Village and only a 10 minute drive to both. The beginning of the North Fork wine country is only a 15 minute drive. The 5 mile long pristine Hampton Bay's oceanfront is also only a 10 minute drive.

Additional information about rental rates

  • The house is only available from May 22 through Labor Day. The house is not available for weekend rental or graduation parties. Sorry.

    Preference is to rent for the whole period from July 1 to Labor Day to one family. We will consider shorter periods, however two weeks is the minimum. Please inquire. The renter will be required to pay for pool maintenance, telephone and any house cleaning. Electric and cable connections are included up to 750.00 per month.
  • One-third deposit is due upon making of the reservation. Balance with a 10 % security deposit is due 7 days before rental period begins.

  • All of the bathrooms have high end fixtures, marble floors, countertops, etc. and most have full outdoor views of the woods and/or pool. The master bath has a large bathtub with a separate shower stall. One of the bathrooms is located in the Sauna department and has direct access to the sauna and to the outdoor pool and spa. This section of the house is accessible without entering the main house. This is very convenient when entertaining outdoors.

  • The master bedroom is located on the second floor and adjoins a wood paneled changing room and office. The other bedrooms are on the main floor. All of the bedrooms are large and have couches or club chairs and such. The master bedroom is about 600 square feet. The others are about 350 square feet each. Several of the bedrooms have flat panel high definition televisions. Each bedrooms is attached and has direct access to one of the bathrooms.

Entertainment Features: The house and outdoor areas include built in stereo systems throughout. The pool is gunite and quite large (25 by 65 foot) - about 2 1/2 times the typical Hamptons pool. The spa seats eight. The house includes a true Finnish sauna. An outdoor fire pit allows for roaring nighttime fires (and roasting marshmallows). The outdoor area has a built in bar and gas barbecue grill with a sink and refrigerator. There are numerous balconies, decks and a Koi pond surrounding the house. There are numerous games, bicycles and a Kayak available for use. The Great Room easily accomodates large numbers. While the formal dining room is for intimate gatherings, the breakfast room (and its 8 foot, 200 year old table) easily accomodates 10 for a meal.

Area Dining and Bars and Waterfront: Of all the East End hamlets, Hampton Bays by far has the best access to the ocean and Peconic Bay. The area offers easy access to miles upon miles of deserted beaches on the ocean and bay. Rather than being limited to one or two town beaches, one can simply access the water at one of the many back roads and find a private hideaway. There are several marinas, many boat ramps and other access points to the water. Even if you are not a boater or fisherman, there are about a dozen restaurants on the water that allow for fun waterfront dining activities.
