Destin Florida is a great vacation destination for those of us that enjoy the serenity of walking a spotless white sandy beach while watching the emerald green waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
.
For the past 13 years my wife and I have spent the month of February in places like Ft. Lauderdale, St. Petes, Naples, Orlando, Daytona Beach and Coco Beach, but it wasn't until a friend of our suggested Destin that we finally found a place that has kept us coming back..
Destin offers great Shopping, Boating, Golfing, Deep Sea Fishing, Sunset Cruises, Para Sailing, Surfing, Dining in many of it's fine restaurants, just to mention some of the activities.
Or enjoy dolphin watching right from your very own balcony, better yet take a dolphin cruise like we did from Olin Marler's Charter Boat Service, my wife and I were treated to a relaxing 2 hours of dolphin watching in a large, clean quite glass bottom boat that cruises the Destin Harbour and the Gulf of Mexico. My wife is not usually comfortable on a boat but this was such a smooth and enjoyable cruise that she wants to go again, we saw over 30 dolphins, some were as close as 5 feet from the boat.
If your in Destin this cruise is a must.
They are located at Habourwalk Village near the Destin Bridge, just look for the orange boats, and the friendliest crew on the docks, buy a ticket for $15.00 each and enjoy a memorable 2 hours.
And don't forget your camera.
While your in Destin the place to call home is BREAKERS EAST at 1010 Hwy. 98. We have stayed in other properties and although they have been nice, none can compare to this property. The units are very very large, all are "Gulf Front" with patio door off the master bedroom and another off the living area. The entire property is spotless. The complex is even nicer than the brochure shows.
In addition to being extremely well furnished the kitchen had absolutely everything you would ever need to make a snack or a five course dinner. And most important, the staff (Linda & Debbie) like most everyone we continue to meet in this community are very friendly.
So put Destin on the top of your list of places to visit on your next vacation, like us, you'll wonder what took you so long to get here.
