True Camp In Pa!

Review Submitted: January 12, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
Well, we feel privleged to be the first renters of this beautiful property! My daughters and I spent the weekend during a winter wonderland storm. The property itself was great. We spent a lot of time walking on the lake during the snow storm. The yard is spacious and slopes, so very conducive for sledding! The inside of the home is special. It gives a feeling of true comfort and family. The wood floors and beautiful doors let's you know it is truely cared for. Of course, the fireplace is fantastic! We kept it going the entire time we were there. Craig and Pam are very gracious people. I could tell that the property had deep meaning to them; being that it's been in Craig's family since the 20's. I enjoy lake front properties and have stayed at many in different parts of the US. In Pa, it's hard to find the type of property on a natural lake like Craig and Pam have. It's truely unique.

Wonderful Getaway

Henri M. Philadelphia, PA
Review Submitted: January 14, 2010 Date of Stay: December 2009
We stayed at this lakehouse in December 2009. We arrived tired after a long, stressful day at work, and were greeted by a nice warm fire in the fireplace. It is so peaceful and quiet here. We spent lots of time in front of the fireplace, and the firewood is provided. The house is cozy, and immaculate, with many beautiful and interesting antiques, and really felt like a home. The property has a big sloping yard that is great for sledding right on to the frozen lake.. There is a firepit at the edge of the lake which was great for roasting marshmellows. The view of the lake is beautiful and you can see the top of the ski trails of Elk Mountain, which is an easy 5-10 minute drive, so it was very convenient to go skiing. We would absolutely recommend this home to anyone looking for a family friendly, quiet and relaxing lakefront vacation. We would also highly recommend that you take advantage of meals at Fiddle Lake Farm, which is only one minute away down the road. The farm house is beautiful. Craig and Pam are wonderful gracious hosts, and Pam can cook a meal like you would not believe! We will definitely return for future skiing vacations, and we also want to experience this place in the summer time.

A Much Needed Rest

lomah Lehighton, PA
Review Submitted: September 3, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
From the moment our family walked into the kitchen to unpack, to the quiet time at the dock the morning we left, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Our family of 8 arrived at Pam and Craig's lakehouse tired and depleted. We run a Bed and Breakfast ministry in our home and had so looked forward to our week long stay at Fiddle Lake. We were warmly welcomed by Craig and delighted to see the fresh cut flowers in the kitchen. The house was immaculate and had all that we needed for our retreat.

We dined at the lakeside each evening enjoying the beautiful view, then had a fire in the firepit to roast marshmallows. Craig and Pam even provided the firewood!

It was evident to us that providing clean and comfortable surroundings is priority to this couple. Not a detail was missed. I especially enjoyed floating on the raft, and my husband sailed to his hearts content, well, paddled mostly as the wind didn't cooperate. We also enjoyed a large family of wild turkeys that visited several mornings.

I would highly recommend this lovely home to anyone looking for a family friendly, quiet and relaxing lakefront vacation.

We've already booked for next summer and extended to two weeks.
Thank you Pam and Craig for such a lovely time. You truly care about your guests and go above and beyond to ensure wonderful memories.

Perfect Getaway from NYC

DJSSSSS NYC
Review Submitted: June 24, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Better than we ever could have hoped for. It was a wonderful escape from the bustle of a big city. It was amazingly quiet and peaceful and I haven't seen that many stars since out West. While the living room had some outdated furniture, the bedrooms were beautifully antique. But overall the house was charming and homey with a lived-in type feel. The lakeside amenities were plentiful--canoe, rowboat, paddle boats, kayaks; life vests--but if you're coming on a busy weekend, you might have to share with the bed&breakfast too. (But you won't have to share the fire pit where you can roast marshmallows next to the lake or the swinging bench.) The oven was a bit on the fritz and if you bring a lot of food, you might need more pantry space to put it. But you will never want for more and you will never find better customer service or nicer human beings who tend to your needs in a flash. You will never want for activities either--even if it's miserable weather. They even have lots of board games for kids and adults and a lot of kids movies. I guarantee you will probably overpack for this trip because they have so much waiting for you and if you didn't have it, they are the type of people who will drop everything to get you what you need fast! I'm sure next year the prices will go up! We brought a two year old and four year old with 5 adults. The only bad thing was the weather and the cold water, but the owners hospitality more than made up for it.

Owner's Response: We have since fixed the cracked element in the oven and added more counter space for dry goods storage on the back porch.

All that and more!

Marc R Glenside, PA
Review Submitted: April 9, 2009 Date of Stay: March 2009
My family and I spent a long Feb 2009 weekend at this lovely cabin and enjoyed every minute. This old house has the best view of the lake and is a short car ride from the best skiing in Eastern PA. We can't wait to stay here again next winter and are even considering a summer stay.
