Bienvenidos! Relax and enjoy “Baja time” at Casa de Las Palmas, a beautiful beachfront home located on the white sandy beach on the Sea of Cortez in Baja California. Constructed in the traditional Mexican hacienda style, the home has large verandas and outdoor living areas where you can experience spectacular sunrises over the Sea of Cortez, as well as enjoy the calm tranquility and starry skies of the evening.
The main living area is large and airy with a spacious, well-equipped kitchen on one end and the main sitting / living room at the other. You will enjoy beautiful views with all the activity on the Sea of Cortez through the six sliding glass doors that flank the beach side of the house. The living area also has a full bath, along with laundry facilities, and access to the first bedroom. Situated on over a gated acre of land, parking for several cars, an RV, or boat is available in the courtyard or on street next to the house.
Bedroom 1 with a queen bed utilizes the bath in the main house. This bedroom also has a private entrance through sliding doors off the front veranda. The 3-bedroom wing of the house has its own entrance from the front veranda. In addition, each of the bedrooms has a separate entrance to private patios and verandas. Bedrooms 2 has a queen bed, private bath, and can also accommodate a twin bed in the room on request. Bedroom 3 (also with a queen bed) can accommodate an extra twin bed and shares a full large bath with the fourth bedroom. Bedroom 4 is furnished with a king bed and an extra twin bed. The king bed can be converted to twin beds.
Directly across from the front veranda adjoining the courtyard are the two casita bedrooms, Bedroom 5 and 6. These newly remodeled rooms have a lockable connecting door between them, perfect for couples with children or older teens traveling with the larger group. Bedrooms 5 and 6 both have a king bed, which can be converted to twin beds if needed. The adjoining bath for the Bedroom 6 has also been designed to be wheelchair accessible. Each bedroom has separate patio areas and separate entrances.
What’s your idea of the perfect vacation? As you sit sipping your morning coffee on the veranda, you may catch sight of whales and their calves passing through, bat rays leaping out of the sea as they try to fly, or a school of porpoise traveling through. This area has also become “the place to be” for kite boarding/surfing and a short walk north from the house will take you to ExotiKite, where all gear and equipment is provided by certified instructors who will teach you the fine art of kite-boarding.
Or, you can rent ATV’s and take an adventurous ride through the arroyos and hike to picturesque waterfalls. Maybe you’d rather take a picnic lunch and snorkel and/or scuba dive at Cabo Pulma, a national marine park with one of the most beautiful reefs in the world, where you can swim with the sea lions and the many diverse species that inhabit the reef. Fishing for marlin, sailfish, yellow fin tuna, and Dorado is always in season, with many boats and crew available for day trips. We will be glad to recommend several from which to choose. On the other hand, if you'd rather be a real captain of the seas, there are 2 hard-sided sit-on-top tandem ocean kayaks available for you and your first mate's use.
Arrangements for horseback riding, a day trip to the quaint Mexican village of Santiago with shopping and dining, a day trip to Cabo San Lucas, or a day trip to the artsy community of Todos Santos can all be arranged. If relaxation is what you have in mind, leisurely walks on the beach, unwinding in one of the many outdoor hammocks at the house, or just taking it easy are all yours for the asking. There are many different restaurants in town, or if you prefer to dine in, a wonderful meal can be catered and arranged. Light housekeeping is provided to help with the daily necessities and keep you in a stress-free environment. We will help you plan and arrange everything to make your time here as perfect and pleasurable as possible.
Before you know it, you will be in “Baja time” – a slower paced lifestyle where the days slip one into the next and daily cares become less important, where people are friendly, and life goes at its own pace. Remember, there is always mañana . . . so enjoy the moment!
