Venice Area: Venice, FL., close to everything: visit our beautiful beaches (several to choose from), shopping, golfing, festivals, restaurants, theater, great fishing, you don't even need a boat, there is great fishing from the Venice Pier. However if you want to get out and explore these waters boat rentals are available in the area, bird watching is amazing right in the back yard as there are fabulous rookeries around Venice, hunt for prehistoric shark teeth (you can find them easily on the beach), 2 hrs to Disney World or Seaworld in Orlando,1 hr 20 min. to Bush Gardens in Tampa, 25 min. to Mote Aquarium or Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota, or visit Myakka River State Park for a great day of exploring Florida's nature.
