Views abound from the numerous windows and french doors located in the full kitchen/living room plus french doors and many more windows in the master bedroom with en suite full bath/shower.Situated on one floor, set high among the treetops, accessed with a spacious deck for sunning or sipping your morning coffee or tea, creates a scene for an amazing view overlooking gorgeous Lochabar Harbor which is an area known for its beauty and its safe harbor. Turquoise waters made for swimming, snorkeling and fishing with a mile of sandy beach for walking, sunning or exploring can be found just steps away from this waterfront property with its own 125 ft of beachfront. Also with 3 nearby uninhabited islands out in front to calm and gentle the water and also to explore, it is indeed paradise. Near the main entry and steps from the deck is an outdoor shower you will come to love

Located in beautiful Lochabar Harbor known for being the safest harbor on the island and located in the capitol of the island, Clarence Town, Passionate Pelican is only 1-1/2 miles away from several harbor restaurants, bars and grocery stores plus a bakery. The restaurants serve tasty island fare and the grocery stores have many staples with fresh food arriving weekly by boat. Clarence Town also hosts a health clinic and a packing house that you might find fresh fruit before it ships oversees. Oasis bakery has wonderful loafs of homemade bread, cookies, slices of pie and cake plus morning donuts and cinnamon rolls. You'll also find island made crafts along the highway in Clarence Town. Two beautiful churches grace the hilltops as you enter town. Long Island is one of the safest islands where crime is rare. Residents of Long Island are very friendly and very helpful to tourists. There are no commercial resorts or chain stores located anywhere on Long Island. Island bands are a treat!

  • October 1, 2009 through April 30, 2010 - $1200.00 USD for a 7 night stay.
  • Less than 7 night stay, each night is $200.00 with a 4 night minimum
    *All foreign bank transactions will be subjected to a processing fee determined by the transaction*
    50% deposit due at the time of booking.
    Reservation will be considered accepted after receipt of deposit payment within a 7 day period after acknowledgment of rental dates.
    We do accept check, money order, bank check, wire transfer & Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover through Paypal.
    Remainder of monies due need to be received 60 days prior to arrival date.
    Full deposit is returned if cancellation is 60 days or more before reservation date. Less than 60 days, no refund available.
  • December 2009 Special Rate: For reservations dated December 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009 $1000/7 night stay. Payment only by Paypal or wire transfer will be accepted.

Notes: High thread count sheets and festive colored bedding create a romantic and relaxing spot to reminisce or dream up your next memorable excursion! Inside the living room is a bump-out seating area with surrounding windows which feels like you are nestled among the branches with beautiful ocean views to gaze upon! DVDs are on hand for a movie night or many, board games, puzzles and books will complete the moments you just want to BE! Outside near the entrance and steps to the deck, is an outside shower you will come to love and experience time and time again! We are cistern water fed, so conservation is a must. Passionate Pelican is a non-smoking, non-pet cottage. It will only accomodate up to 2 adults. A sister cottage, Whistling Duck is located roughly 100 feet away with it's own 125ft waterfront, so privacy abounds for each. A thatched covered gazebo is located at the water's edge and can be enjoyed anytime. Listen to the birds or gaze at the numerous butterflies while you relax!

Extra amenities:: For a fee: Use of a new tandem (2 seat) kayak. $100 deposit required. This is refunded by mail after departure day if kayak and paddles are returned in the same condition as received. Life jackets are provided and required for use at all times while kayaking. Daily housekeeping, fishing with guides, car rental , food baskets and other excursion packages are extra and provided by outside resources. These must be arranged directly between guests and providers.

Phone service: There is a phone in the cottage that can be used for local calls only. It will receive long distance calls but has a call block and can not be used for long distance calling. Calling cards for long distance dialing may be purchased at the local phone company, Batelco. Airport Destination: Please be aware that your flight destination on Long Island will be at Deadmans Cay Airport. This is the airport closest to the cottage which is about a 20 minute car ride to and from.

Sister cottage: Whistling Duck Cottage is also privately located nearby. It is situated as the Pelican for the utmost in space, surroundings and privacy. It is located approx. 100 ft away and has it's own beachfront as the Pelican does.

The stay in Passionate Pelican was terrific and exceeded our
expectations. Nancy was so nice and helpful.
Sun, fishes, sand, sea… everything was perfect.

We have traveled the Caribean for many years and as much as we have liked a property and island we seldom would return, well that use to be be the story untill we found this property and this island!  It truly is a Little bit of Heaven on Earth. The property was everything as promised. Clean,well equited and a view to die for. If you want to kickback and unwind this is your place. Don't expect fancy restaurants or shopping malls for it has none and we can only hope it dosn't change. Nancy the property manager is wonderful. She had all the info we needed. Where to dine,where to shop and even where to fish. She saved us a lot of time and energy. We arrived on a Sunday night when all the stores were closed,but Nancy made a few phone calls and she was able to open serveral stores. I guess you just need to know the right people(she's one of them). The Bone fishing here is great, I'm not much of a fly fisherman,but I was able to catch 6 Bones, a Jack and a Baracuda. Were else can you fish and have Sea turtles,Sharks and giant Tiger rays swimming by you. Lockabar Bay is very shallow,alive and also a good place to swim and snorkle. We cooked in most nights with fresh Crawfish,Grouper and Hog fish. We did find Maxes Conch Bar and The Outer Edge and both were great local restaurants. Try and believe this, there a no burger places,no pizza places and no chain restaurants. Thank the Lord ! You may want to rent a 4 wheel drive if you are going anywhere other than the one main road. There are some great places to see Deans Blue Hole were the water goes from angle deep to 660' in abut three steps. The northern end of the island is worth a drive, it has many small fishing villages and hill side views. At the far north end you'll find Cape Santa Maria Beach Resort. It's about 1 1/2 hour drive. Great place to dine, try there Conch Fritters. I'll close now and hope I'm leaving you with warm thoughts of the perfect getaway. Michael
