Lovely August Vacation

Our visit to Saltscapes was a wonderful time of rest, relaxation, and peace. We traveled 1100 miles with another couple to see PEI after a 35 year gap in visits! Having grown up going to PEI, camping every year on the north shore as a child/teenager, I was expecting to see what my memories told me to expect, and I was not disappointed: beautiful, unspoiled beaches (Thunder Cove remains in my mind one of the most lovely in the world!), wind swept dunes, the greens of the potato fields, an abundance of lighthouses and long, red clay roads. It was truly all that I had hoped to see! The food was amazing and the Ship to Shore restaurant, just minutes down the road, is a place you must try! Excellent cuisine. Much golf was played at four different courses, all on the north shore, many walks on the beach, an afternoon tea at Dalvey-By-The-Sea, and the cottage itself was everything the photos show it to be. We loved the art work throughout the cottage, very fitting to the surroundings. We appreciated the peaceful atmosphere to rest and to read many books out on the lovely, sunny porch and the ability to walk to the beach at any given moment was a huge factor in choosing Saltscapes. Our time there was well worth the very long drive. We hope to visit Saltscapes again on our next trip north! Thank you, Pam and Ed, for sharing your beautiful cottage with us. And thank you for sharing the island hospitality as well. PEI remains my favorite destination :-)
Owner's Response: Thank you so very much for the kind words. We were so pleased that after 35 years the Island and all of it's surroundings didn't disappoint and you were able to create even more wonderful memories with your family & friends. We are blessed to have such wonderful guests stay at Saltscapes Retreat and we can only look forward to another visit from you next year. Until than, take good care. Pam & Ed Thompson
