Town of Guilford:: There is something for everyone in this community of 22,000. Very much a suburb, Guilford has many modern amenities like a skate park, a new police and fire station, a 21st century library and a health center affiliated with Yale-New Haven Hospital. But the amenities aren't the first thing you see on a tour of the town. It's the first rate schools with their commitment to quality education It's the natural beauty of the town's scenic roads, wooded lots and location along the shoreline of the Long Island Sound. It's the value that Guilford places on its historic roots - the plaques on its antique homes and the character of its magnificent Green. With an excellent location along the I-95 corridor and accessible by rail, Guilford is a charming town steeped in history with a commitment to meeting the modern needs of its residents.

Distances:: Commuter Rail Service Shoreline East Commuter Train Station to New Haven and New York: About 1/3 of a mile to the commuter rail station (2000 feet away). The new State Street Station in New Haven is a 20 minute ride! Metro North Information. (NYC is 77 Miles away). Airport distances: Tweed (New Haven) 13.7 miles, Bradley International (Hartford) 52 miles, TF Green, (Rhode Island) 82.5 miles, JKF (NY) 92.9 miles.

A property not to be missed

My family and I decided to vacation this year in Guilford, Ct., which is a outstanding small shoreline community. So we looked at several houses to rent online, and like most were afraid that what we saw online would not match up to what we would actually arrive to. Well we decided on this property, and let me tell you when we arrived we were happy to find that the house was even better than we pictured. With beautiful hardwood floors throughout and plenty of room that you are not on top of each other regardless of your family size. The best part of the house outside of the attentive and helpful owners, is the fact that it is walking distance to all. If you have a boat the marina and boat launch, along with three restaurants ( The Stonehouse, The Little Stonehouse, and the Guildford Mooring) are all very short walk, the beach is about a 5 minute walk, the town center is about a mile away. If you love to cook don't forget to stop by Bishops Orchard where you can find all the fresh produce, cheeses, and fresh baked goods you can imagine. While we were there we took day trips to Mystic Seaport/Aquarium (about 45-50 minutes) and New York City (about 1 1/2 to 2 hours), but there are plenty of other things to do in the area. Without a doubt we will return to Guilford and this property again.
