One of the most sought-after areas of the city, the neighborhood of Lakeview is the most populated area in the Midwest largely due to its great dining, shopping and nightlife. It is also home to the Chicago Cubs' Wrigley Field, and a part of the neighborhood is named for it. There are more than 600 retail stores. The pleasant surprise of Lakeview & Wrigleyville is that once you venture 20 steps from the main shopping, restaurant and bar/club areas, you'll find yourself in beautifully maintained tree-lined streets, with rows of lovely houses ranging in age from near-century-old to 3 days ago. This is the other reason for this area's popularity; one can stay in a gorgeous house on a gorgeous street, then walk for 5 minutes and be in one of the city's mecca shopping/nightlife districts. Transportation is plentiful, with several El line stops (Addison and Southport are 5 minutes walk from the house) and CTA buses within couple of blocks. Plenty of taxis also available everywhere

Great Location But Needs Cleaning

Six members of our family met in Chicago for a vacation. The house itself had a nice layout (lots of stairs though) and was in a great location outside of downtown Chicago. Wrigley Field is just a few blocks away and there are great restaurants nearby. We rented a Mini-van and it was great to have the garage available since parking anywhere in Chicago is problematic.

Our complaint about this house was that it wasn't clean. Two of the three bathrooms had used bars of soap in the showers, the kitchen stovetop was covered in dust and we found unclean glassware and silverware.

We hope the owners will take our concerns and suggestions to heart and will correct the cleaning issues because this would be a potentially great place to stay.
