House - 5 Bedrooms + Detached Unit - 2 Rooms, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 16)

This is a beautiful and unique log cabin built in 1954 rustic and cozy on the outside and completely renovated on the inside. The upstairs has two bedrooms, two baths, kitchen and living room with a wood burning fireplace. Beautiful lake views from the eating bar and living room. Sliding glass door opens on to an expansive deck where you will enjoy outdoor eating and cooking on a gas BBQ in the evenings. The downstairs level has three additional bedrooms, one bath, a small kitchenette and a family room with a gas fireplace. A separate Guest House/Apt in a detached unit under the garage includes a private master bedroom and a studio area with a daybed, kitchenette, TV /sitting area and a bathroom. The two levels and separate Guest House is great for a two or three family rental or for adult living upstairs and guest home and children downstairs.

Sleeping areas: Master #1 Upstairs = Queen (2), Bedroom #2 Upstairs = Queen (2) Bedroom #3 Downstairs = Twin (2), Bedroom #4 Downstairs = Queen (2), Downstairs Room #4 Double and 3 twins (4). Total Beds and bedding provided for 12 in the main home. Additionally, there is room for an additional 4 persons in an Guest House/Apt. additional bedroom with a Queen Bed (2) and a studio area with a twin daybed (2), sitting area, kitchenette and a bath with a shower. Total maximum occupancy (16).

This house sets at the top of a long lot which provides both lake and mountain views. Its a nice walk down to the lake over an expansive lawn where you can play badminton, lawn bowling, soccer and croquet. The beach access is flat and sandy (no stairs or rocks) this is a special beach area on a cove with a private dock, buoy, kayak and paddle boat provided. Lake Almanor is great for water skiing and wake boarding. Jet skis and boats can be rented nearby. Afternoon breezes often provide good sailing or sail boarding. Early morning fishing includes salmon, rainbow trout, and bass.

There are three nearby golf courses - Lake Almanor Country Club, Lake Almanor West and Bailey Creek. Tennis and basketball courts at the Recreation Area located within the Country Club. If you have been to Lake Almanor you know it is one of our best kept secrets. If you make this your vacation this year you will return again and again.

Perfect Family Vacation - Fun, comfortable and beautiful

We had a great time at Gerry's home. It was perfect in many ways. Very family friendly. All amenities were very nice, but not over-the-top, so that you would be afraid to enjoy. We had big kids and little kids. The deck is amazing - great for line dancing :) Property was very clean and stocked with most everything. Close enough to stores for a quick run. Beautiful, beautiful lake. We did not need to go anywhere else for activities. It was all there. The listing was described correctly, other than the lack of TV's in bedrooms. My only complaint was the gardener mowed the lawn (very noisy) at 7:00 AM, and sprinklers went on at 5:00 PM when kids playing on lawn. These two issues were very minor.

Recommended for: Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Hansen's Lake Vista is a fabulous home on the shores of Lake Almanor. Great dock and amenities for multiple activities of fun for all ages. The upper deck has a beautiful view of the lake and provides ample space for large families to dine out doors. We'll be returning for our 4th summer in 2012. A big "Thank You" to Gerry and her daughter's for sharing their special home with our families.

We rented this location as a retreat for our small company. It was a perfect set up, with plenty of room to get together. You can't beat the lake for beachfront, especially in CA. Everything was provided. Many rentals skimp on essentials. All in all, a great time.

We had a great time at Gerry's home on Lake Almanor. What a great way to start the day, sipping coffee on the patio, looking out at the lake while wearing a sweatshirt! The boat dock was so convenient for the boat we rented, the grass area between the house and the lake was beautiful to see, and great for laying out or playing bocce ball. The layout of the home was perfect for 2 families - adults upstairs and kids downstairs. It would be great if there was a queen or king size bed in the second bedroom upstairs so that a couple can use the room - maybe there are plans for this??

Owner's Response: This was a great suggestion and I have made the change to accomodate two adult bedrooms on the main floor each with a private bath. Master and Bedroom #2 are now Queen beds.

We had a wonderful time at Hansen's Lake Vista. The view from the deck is spectacular. We loved spending time at the dock reading and playing in the kayak and paddle boats. We really also enjoyed the outside shower and jacuzzi after spending the day at the dock. The kitchen is beautiful. The only downside was some noisy construction that went on for awhile one day. Overall we had a great vacation here and would definitely use it again.

Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Owner's Response: Short term construction ... this will not be something a 2012 guest will have to endure.
