Beautiful modern home on edge of salt marsh, near the inlet on the Isle of Palms. Ideal for people who enjoy secluded nature settings - with resort amenities and fine dining nearby. Built in 1998 and newly furnished in 2005. Best features include sweeping marsh views, 14 rocking chairs, distinctive post-and-beam architecture, gourmet kitchen, 3,000 sq. ft. open floor plan, and 90-inch Mitsubishi front projection HDTV. Walk 15 minutes to beautiful, uncrowded beach (partly via boardwalk winding over the marsh). Perfect for six to eight adults (three bedrooms with queen-size beds, plus an extra 'half bedroom' with double-size bed). Two full baths and one large powder room, plus outdoor hot water shower. High quality linens and towels. Master bedroom has 32-inch Sony LCD HDTV and private balcony with two rockers. High speed wireless internet access via cable modem at no charge.

Hardwood floors throughout. Granite in kitchen and baths. Cathedral ceilings in loft and master bedroom. Fully-equipped kitchen with two ovens, Sub-Zero refrigerator, recipe books, etc. Screen porch with two rockers and sofa. Covered porch with six rockers and dining for for six. Living room with large sofa and four swivel rockers, ideal for viewing marsh or 90-inch front projection HDTV. Laundry room with washer and dryer. Sports Card for access to Wild Dunes sports facilities (though you pay activity fees).

Even aside from the gorgeous views, the home has a unique beauty all its own. Designed by architects who participated in the design of Bill & Melinda Gates' home, it feels spacious and expansive with dramatic angles, huge windows and striking architectural features - a great blend of comfort and style. Photos and words don't do it justice - you just have to experience it!

Not suitable for children under the age of eight due to open balconies, elevator, unlocked cabinets, etc

This was our 4th time renting in Wild Dunes and the first time we rented for two weeks. We always wanted to rent on the "marsh" side of the island and found this wonderful, lovely, fun house. Our friends joined us the first week, our son the second and our daughter, who lives in Mt. Pleasant, were all in agreement in liking the house. The house is very spacious, has wonderful views and very well equiped. We are animal lovers and enjoyed seeing the deer on a regular basis. We really hated to leave and will remember this as one of our favorite places.

This message is to anyone who reads my comments: You'd be out of your mind to stay any where else other than this beautiful home. I wholeheartedly agree with all previous comments posted about the Marsh House. It is a perfect house in a perfect location, totally comfortable & absolutely enjoyable. I was happy as a clam just sitting on the porch looking out over the marsh or walking down the road to the long boardwalk over another marsh to the beach. My wife, 2 sons & 2 daughters stayed here 4 nights ( not long enough )during Christmas week & none of us wanted to leave. We plan to reserve another stay here in 2009.

We found the Marsh House just by chance on the VRBO website and we were THRILLED with the house and amenities once we arrived there! the owners have thought of just about everything you could need for a stay there; from a refernce book about how to work appliances to lists of reccomended restaurants and attractions. The house is a great get-away, relaxing place. If you are considering renting the Marsh house, We would highly reccomend it!!!

My wife and I have stayed at numerous rental vacation homes at Wild Dunes over the past 10 years, and the Marsh Home is by far the best we have stayed in without exception. When we arrived (for a week in January 2008), it was spotless, without any stains or soiled furniture, perfectly maintained beautiful wood floors, outstanding furnished rooms, and equipped with top of the line amenities such as the dishwasher, stove, garbage disposal, granite counters, Grohe faucets and bath ware, ceramic tiled baths, a music and entertainment center designed for the most fanatic enthusiasts, huge screened and unscreened porches with fans facing an expansive and breath taking marsh area , and detailed instructions in the form of a booklet detailing exactly how to operate and maintain everything. If you are looking for a relaxing and quiet place to enjoy the beauty of marsh scenery on the Isle of Palms, and more specifically Wild Dunes, you need look no further for a home with an open floor plan and an outstanding place to simply enjoy yourself and the beautiful surroundings.
