This is a lovely large contemporary saltbox with numerous skylights and large open, sunny areas. First level has an open floor plan and a massive stone fireplace with wood stove. There is a living room area with 3 couches, a regulation pool table,dining area, full kitchen with breakfast bar, 1 bedroom and a full bath. There is also a TV with cable, DVD player and WiFi. Second level has two bedrooms and large master bath. The third level offers a huge bedroom loft and small seating area (great get-away space for the kids!).Large basement has laundry with washer/ dryer, third bathroom, universal weight machine and an additional room w/ regulation sized ping-pong table. Four pairs of snowshoes. Huge and very private yard, with numerous outdoor sporting equipment available for use.(volleyball,badmitton,croquet,etc) Enjoy mnt views while relaxing on deck. Large firepit for chilly evenings. Located in Thornton, house is short distance from the Franconia Notch. 4 W/D OR ALL W/D VEHICLE NECESSARY DURING WINTER MONTHS!!

If I had to describe this home in one word it would be PRIVATE. There are no houses after it,it sits alone on top of a hill so there are never any cars going by. Kids and your dog can play outside,there are neighbors but they cannot be seen from this property.It is only a short ride to town but you will feel you are all alone here on the top of the hill!20 MINUTES FROM LOON AND WATERVILLE: Centrally located for fantastic adventures during winter ski months. The house is located between Loon Mountain and Waterville Valley ski resorts, both about a 20 minute car ride away from the house.. Cannon Mountain is about a 30 minute drive.

4 W/D OR ALL W/D VEHICLE NECESSARY DURING WINTER : The house is privately located at the end of a private road, that is somewhat steep and curvy. It is well plowed and sanded throughout the winter, but 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicles are stongly recommended to ensure safe and easy access to the house during winter months..

The house is in the White Mountains.Hiking is a major year round activity. The Mt Dickey/Mt Welsh loop trail, a short distance from the house is a modest climb with many beautiful views. World class hiking is found throughout the White Mountains, as is skiing,snowboarding, snowshoeing and cross countryskiing. This is a year round outdoor recreational area, with canoeing and kayaking in the summer and great skiing in the winter.. The town of Lincoln, ten minutes from the house, is a full service town, with restaurants, shops, a movie theatre and live theatre in the summer. Also nearby is the picturesque town of Woodstock,with a theme park of trained live bears and the entrance to Franconia State Park in the heart of White Mountains. Sight seeing and 'leaf peeping' are very high up on visitors lists of things to do. Wildlife spotting, especially for moose, is a popular pastime.Antique shops and crafts shows can be a good way to spend a rainy day. There are 2 golf course nearby.

Amazing house in peaceful location

We fell in love with this house as soon as we went up the drive. The pool table was in constant use by the teenagers. The house is open plan and very light and clean and fully kitted out. Bob and Jean are really wonderful people to deal with. The pushchair at the house was really great for our baby and they were able to provide a portable crib as well. It was very easy to get to all the attractions at Franconia and also to the lakes and shopping at Plymouth so a brilliant location. We trekked all over the White Mountains looking for moose, to no avail, so are gutted to discover the previous occupants found them at the house....if only we had stayed at home more! Would love to go back.

Amazing Experience

Jean and bob were wonderful in helping arrange our vacation. Our family of six really enjoyed this secluded, very well maintained and spacious home. There was so much to occupy our children, aged 7- 1 years old. From the moment we drove up the long driveway, we knew this was going to be great! The children were so happy with the spacious outdoors, the volley ball net, the large deck and beautiful flowers. We even discovered a short path - that the children called - "our own hiking trail" This was so private, quiet (except for sounds of nature) and oh so relaxing. We even got to spot 2 moose on the property! The game room, and board games kept everyone entertained. Jean and Bob bent over backwards to assist with any inquiries and were incredible. There was one day - during a heat wave - that it got quite warm, but other than that the weather was beautiful.
Thank you so much - we look forward to booking in the future!

Great Place to Stay in Beautiful White Mt Region

Jean and Bob's vacation home sits in a beautiful hill top location, very private but close to many of the attractions of the region. The house itself has a great open layout that comfortably accommodates a good size family or group of friends. Bob and Jean were very responsive in arranging for our reservations and helpful in offering suggestions for dining etc. Being pet-friendly was a key consideration for our family and I can safely say that it was Pickle's (our dog) favorite vacation ever. Franconia Notch State Park and the White Mountain National Forest were both awesome with plenty of fall color in late September. For those who are a little bit adventurous, I highly recommend the zipline tour offered in nearby Lincoln. It all made for a very memorable and rewarding vacation.

Just the Ticket

What a wonderful house for a getaway. Spacious and clean with plenty of room for all. We arrived with 3 young grandchildren and it worked out perfectly. So much to keep them occupied. No worry about disturbing the neighbors with noise and a great place to come home to after a very busy day exploring all the treats New Hampshire has to offer. I could also see where the house would be perfect for the family with teenagers or young adults. We will certainly be renting again thru the years. Thank You for a much needed retreat in a wonderful setting.

Great weekend get-away

We stayed here for the weekend with plans of visiting Santa's Village, Lost River Gorge and Caverns, and going to see Thomas the Train in North Conway. The house was located in the middle of everything... the space is great for children, as they can play outside without worry.
The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious, plenty of room for the group of 7 adults and 3 children that were in our group!
P.S. the couches in the living room are AMAZINGLY comfortable - took a few naps on those :0) Bob and Jean were more than commodating - very thorough and prompt with their communications for the property and super nice! Will be renting again next summer...
