Better than Johnsburg, Illinois

This apartment is modern, tastefully decorated, spacious, spotlessly clean and very well stocked. In addition to all of the impressive features & facilities, we liked the little touches [powder for the washing machine, provision of kitchen roll, plentiful toilet rolls, a copy of the Lonely Planet guide to Switzerland etc.] None of these minor aspects are especially important in isolation, but they combined to give the impression of owners who [refreshingly] are not obsessed with wringing every available penny from every transaction.
The apartment is set in a quiet, attractive marina a few minutes walk from both the rail station and the departure point for boat services on Lac Leman [Lake Geneva]. There are two supermarkets, although both are a few minutes walk away, and there are several restaurants on the lake-side, adjacent to the rail station.
Le Bouveret is a generally quiet village, but it has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, and features an outstanding Aquaparc within easy walking distance of the apartment. Our Swiss holiday was for 11 nights, 7 of which were spent at this apartment, and we relied exclusively upon public transport. With a bit of planning, we were comfortably able to make trips from Bouveret to Montreux, Lausanne, Chateau Chillon & Bern, using a combination of the excellent Swiss rail network and the elegant boat service on the Lake. The mountain views from the apartment are marvellous, but are enhanced by a boat trip on the Lake, where the tranquil, stylish journey and the amazing panoramic scenery combine to provide an efficient and hugely enjoyable means of crossing to a range of attractive towns, villages etc [including the truly stunning 13th Century Chateau Chillon].
The entire experience as a customer was outstanding from the warm and efficient email response from Maire when we first enquired, to the helpful subsequent advice she offered freely about our plans / transport options etc and right through to the wonderful service in Bouveret, where Delia and Gerald offered all that one would hope for in terms of local support, information etc. Although we didn't need to seek their help, they made it very clear that we shouldn't hesitate to contact them at any time. On our final day, Gerald even drove us to Montreux in order that we could catch a train to Geneva airport.
In summary, this was a wonderful family holiday, in an excellent apartment, with breathtaking scenery and the highest standards of customer service.
