What an amazing location! We had a fantastic week at this home. Wonderful location on the lake, very quiet and peaceful. We kayaked the lake and caught some fish, saw great sunsets as well. We fished many different lakes in the area and caught good fish each time out. The ATV trails are fantastic in the area as well. The house was very clean and well supplied, the owners thought of everything! Would highly recommend this unit to anyone!
I have to agree with the gentleman who said it was a place you kind of want to keep to yourself, but I will write this review. We had no problems at all. The area was just beautiful, and water was nice. Views all over the place with many windows and views from all sides including the laundry room which looked down the dirt road winding lane through the forest. We had a very nice time, and enjoyed the quiet and nature.
This area was absolutely beautiful and the lake was very nice. My family enjoyed it very much and the entire experience was pleasant UNTIL we checked out a half hour early and left house as we found it only to be later told by rental agent that cleaning people claimed we a dog, which we did not, and that we checked out late making the next rental group late checking in. The ending truly soured our experience and we won't stay in this house again and we will not use this rental service again. The agent was no where on site to verify check in or check out and I was very offended by the manner in which we were treated. The house was nice, not air conditioned, the lake was nice but the experience overall was ruined by the ending.
This is one of those special places that you really don't want to tell folks about -- you know, kinda keep it to yourself. But, I'll share a little. Halfway between beautiful Lake Superior's Pictured Rocks area and Lake Michigan with lots of sightseeing opportunities nearby. And, although you're in the "boonies," good food and a cold beer are close by. Wake up early, grab the canoe, a cup of coffee and your fishing pole and head out on the lake. For maximum enjoyment wait 'till the lake looks like a mirror, the air is crisp, and the steam is rising off the warm water. Paddle a few strokes and then just let your canoe and mind drift to happy place and leave all your troubles behind. Just a couple of days of this and I guarantee you'll be relaxed and want to plan your next vacation get-a-way. With the price of a conventional motel room at $100-$150 a night, you can't beat the price for this luxurious vacation retreat.
Looking for a place to be really away from it all, we found what we've been looking for. Situated quietly on a little peninsula in the middle of the woods as the only home on this side of this lake this was the perfect spot to spend some days "just us" and nobody else.
Canoeing, fishing, swimming and lingering around on the pontoon, nights at the campfire only illuminated by the stars above made a great stay and the pike we caught made a good sized meal.
Everything in the house is in order, no hassle, no stress.
Thanks for the great stay.
