My husband found the Urban Nest online. We live in the eastern part of NC and wanted something fun, but low key to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. I was thinking more B&B, but when he found this we jumped at the chance. It really is perfect if you're looking to experience downtown...there are so many fun shops, galleries, not to mention the FOOD...wow! All in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, what a beautiful backdrop. We only had a few days to spend in town, so we roamed and explored the city and didn't venture beyond it, but there are a ton of other great things to do in the area if you're looking for things like that (hiking, we heard the hot springs are cool...about 45 min drive, etc.) Lynne has a gift for hospitality and has provided everything you will need in the Nest. She even has a book detailing restaurants, things to do, etc. It's comfortable, clean, and cozy. What a great trip - we'd love to come back and stay in the Nest again...or maybe try the sister property?

The Little Sister would offer a different experience - it's in a quiet neighborhood overlooking our beautiful garden. While it doesn't have all the shops and stores right outside our door as the Nest does, it offers an alternative - perfect for a quiet get away from it all vacation. And downtown is only 5 minutes away.
