I traveled to San Francisco for a week with my three children, a teenager and 2 20's year old. The house was perfect for us as it is large and gave us plenty of room. The house is as described, very clean, well furnished and maintained, plenty of linens and the kitchen has everything you could use and more. We had great weather so sat out on the patio which was very nice. There is a washer and dryer which was helpful. Another large bonus is the parking spots which saved us from looking for street parking - very convenient and a treat.
The house is located an easy walk to Japantown and surrounding areas; there are buses within a few blocks which will take you to anywhere else in the city. There is a Whole Foods market which is an easy walk and we used on several occasions, also a Walgreens right down the street. The mornings we did not feel like making coffee, there is a Starbucks, Peets and Deli on Van Ness, again a couple of blocks. We had dinner several nights in Japantown and I wish I could remember the names of the restaurants as we had delicious sushi and noodle dishes. San Francisco is a wonderful city with so much to do and our trip was even more special by staying in this beautiful Victorian home. Thank you to the owners for sharing it with us.
Our family enjoyed this beautiful house very much.
The location is perfect because its near many touristic places of San Francisco; an extra benefit is the parking place. The house is very well equiped and very clean. The house is very near to Japantown and Union Square.
Andre was very caring of our family. Thank you for everything.
This is a beautiful big house! We are a family with two adults and six kids and there is plenty of room. Four bedrooms, two living rooms, a table in the kitchen and a huge table in the dining room. The washer and dryer in the garage comes in handy. This house is amazingly elegant with 12 foot ceilings both upstairs and down. There are chandeliers in every room. This house would not work for four couples as the fourth bedroom only has a roll-away bed suitable for a child or a very small adult. There are sheets and blankets in the closet. Oil, salt and pepper are in the pantry and the kitchen is fully stocked with dishes etc. The neighborhood has lots of restaurants and is easily accessible by city bus (easy to figure out and cheap at $2/adult and 75 cents/child). Cable cars and fishermans wharf are a hike by foot, but do-able. Stay away from he neighborhood near Geary street. This house was a mansion in its former life, with front and back staircases. Parking is in the driveway and can accomodate one vehicle even as big as a suburban. This is a huge plus, as on-street parking is extremely difficult. The master bedroom is gorgeous with a king size bed (pretty hard though, it could use a feather topper), bay window and a fabulous armoire.
We recently stayed at this true Victorian home and had a wonderful time..The owners were very accomodating and everything we needed was there..Beautifully furnished and the best thing is there was a yard/patio and driveway garage to park a true rarity for San Francisco. Kitchen had all amenities as well as bathrooms..The kids loved it..would highly recommend and we will be back for sure..
The property was easy to locate and reach from the airport with a minimum of fuss after a long flight from the UK. The location was a bit of a suprise as we initially felt dwarfed by huge buildings overlooking the property - not like the beautiful Victorian house we had rented! The layout was as described, but I feel the additional sleeping in the library was not adequate and the mattress provided thin, worn and very uncomfortable also. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and a pleasure to use. The house is spacious, but one bathroom required tolerance and patience when waiting for a shower or bath. The property was clean and well maintained inside. the decking/ yard space needed some TLC, was overlooked, but visited daily by four beautiful green hummingbirds daily which was a joy.
Interesting and ecclectic decor, pictures and artifacts abound and were suprisingly pleasurable to live amongst!
Some information for non-USA visitors would be helpful - a basic map of the local area, nearest banks, Shops, Chemist etc - and a BIG warning about vigilantly enforced parking restrictions which has cost us over £300 at the latest count!!
SFC is a stunning, unique and eccentric city - a bike ride over the golden gate, trips to Napa Valley, Santa Cruz and Stintson Beach are well worth the effort too - dinner in North Beach, climbing Twin Peaks and seeing Haight Ashbury and Casto and Maceys - what fun!!!
I would avoid Fishermans Wharf, but the sealions on Pier 39 and Alcatraz are worth a look -
I wouldnt stay here with children/ young people again, and you would need to get on REALLY well to be 6 adults in this house - if there were 4 it would be managable!
But SFC deserves a second visit without a doubt -
