Visiting the cabin in the summer months can be such a treat, with plenty of activities in the area you are sure to stay busy! Journey approximately 25 minutes to Grand Targhee Resort where they offer a scenic chair lift ride to the summit of Fred’s Mountain, kid’s summer camps, picturesque horseback rides, a refreshing swimming pool, or reach new heights on the euro-bungee trapeze and climbing tower. Grand Targhee Resort also maintains an award winning disc golf course and many trails for all riding levels at their mountain bike park. But the fun doesn’t stop there, Teton Valley also holds multiple golf courses designed by pro golfers as well as over 120 miles of blue ribbon fly fishing on 3 rivers including, Henry’s Fork, South Fork and the Teton River. During the winter months, hit the slopes of Grand Targhee Resort. Located in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, Grand Targhee’s abundance of light powder snow (more than 500 inches annually) and lack of lift lines creates an uncrowded skier and snowboarder paradise. If downhill skiing is not what you desire, head to Teton Canyon where you can enjoy free groomed trails for classic or skate skiing. The Activity Center at Grand Targhee Resort also offers an abundance of winter activities to choose from including snowshoeing, snowmobiling, snow biking, sleigh ride dinners and backcountry adventures. When returning to the cabin after a long day of outdoor adventure, warm up with hot cocoa by the gas fireplace or enjoy the warmth of the outdoor hot tub while soaking in the beauty of the Teton Valley.
Travel just under an hour to Jackson, WY, where the Wild West truly lives on! Stroll through town to visit the numerous outdoor stores, art galleries and shops, take in the National Museum of Wildlife Art across the street from the National Elk Refuge or “head for the hills” to explore Teton Village.
Last but certainly not least, visit the mountains, valleys, lakes and rivers of Grand Teton National Park. This national forest is home to abundant forests, wildflowers and wildlife. The park also has a rich cultural history with old homesteads and cattle ranches to explore and photograph. Walk on a trail built by the Civilian Conservation Corps or one that American Indians or fur trappers might have used in the 1820s. Ride a bike or paddle a canoe. Only an hour drive from the cabin and there is something for everyone.

We are the Dreisbach Family. My husband and I bought this cabin in 2000. At that time the cabin did not have a yard or a basement and over the years we added some things and improved the property. In 2002 we were married on top of Grand Targhee overlooking the Tetons and held our reception at our cabin. In 2004 we moved to Big Sky, Montana where we own a construction company and try and keep up with our three children. We love making regular trips back to our cabin to enjoy beautiful Teton Valley and all that it offers.

There are many reasons my family chose this property. The Teton Valley and surrounding area is tranquil and serene with spectacular views and many opportunities for adventure. The cabin is in close proximity to Driggs, Idaho, if you need to run into town. It is also not far from Grand Targhee Resort, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park and Jackson, WY. We hope that you enjoy this cabin as much as our family does!
Nothing compares to the unobstructed views of the Tetons. It's a view you could never get sick of!
Bluebird days, amazing Teton views, lots of soaking in the hot tub, fun skiing with friends, cross country skiing and pizza deliveries from the Italian place in Driggs. So much fun, thanks for everything!
We loved the local scenery around the Driggs cabin, including the views from inside. It was beautiful. The décor was really charming and it was very clean and well supplied. We loved the hot tub, especially with the following incident. Unfortunately, the hot water heater broke in the middle of the night and started making very loud noises. By the morning, there wasn't any hot water. The property manager came out at night and was able to stop the noise, but the repair required parts so he couldn't fix it. Also, the DVD would not work correctly - the videos would only play in black and white. We believe it had something to do with a new HD tv and an old DVD player, but not sure.
With all of this, the owners did agree to refund half of our costs, which we really appreciated. We know that things break and you never know when it will happen. I would be happy to stay there again.
This is a cozy and clean cabin, as advertised. We had a great 5 days in the cabin skiing at grand targhee and cross country up Teton canyon. I would recommend this to anyone, driggs is a great location for outside activity and is much quieter than Jackson.
For my 5 friends and I, our idea of New Year's Eve isn't being crammed into some loud, expensive club in a city - for us, the tradition has become to escape to a ski hill for a week and ring in the new year in a rural dive.
Our recently completed trip to Driggs, Idaho was by far the best yet. For a powder hound, you can't do better than Grand Targhee! That was our one and only order of business on this trip, and we did it well: four straight days at Targhee, followed by one day at Jackson Hole. But if we do it again, we'll probably just stay at Targhee. Why? It's simple: far better snow, zero crowds, and good prices.
If we'd just had great skiing and mediocre lodging (as we did last year in Lake Placid, NY), the trip still would've been the best yet. However, this cabin was freaking amazing. Warm, inviting, lots of places to sit, plenty of beds with plenty of warm blankets, and lots of things to do if you just wanna chill. I was thrilled to see NO internet and NO cable TV, but plenty of DVDs and old VHSs to laugh at if needed. We played the heck out of the Scrabble board during late nights.
A few things makes this property shine:
* Location. You're an 11 mile drive from Grand Targhee. In the morning, you can look out the huge windows on the back of the property and see the Teton peaks. Yes, you can literally check ski visibility from the property.
* The view.
* Everything works. Which is to say, all the appliances work: the washer/dryer, all the kitchen appliances, the hot tub, etc.
* The hot tub. This monster was the coup de grace! Roomy, hot, and outside. The six of us have very fond memories of crawling into the tub after beating ourselves up on the ski hill each day, and lowering ourselves as much as possible into the tub to avoid the windy chill that would near zero degrees. Nothing beats sitting in that tub, staring at the Teton peaks, drinking a beer and watching the sun set.
The owners are darned helpful and friendly.
Driggs, the nearest town, has a big supermarket and some good restaurants (the Bangkok Kitchen is fabulous).
For NYE, we went to the Knotty Pine bar in Victor, 14 miles away. A funky local band raged while we got hammered and danced like idiots.
Bottom line: don't fall for the Jackson Hole hype. Grand Targhee is the bomb! And way cheaper, and way more peaceful. We will absolutely be back to Driggs, to this specific property, hopefully before next New Year's Eve.
My husband and I spent a weeklong vacation at this cabin. Everyday and night great sunrise and sunsets. Loved the evenings on a clear night-- beautiful stars, milky way. We had spent several days in the area of Driggs, fishing and hiking. Drove to Yellowstone, via West Yellowstone entrance--great drive. Your cabin was everything we had expected, though more space then two people need. Loved the hot tub after some long hiking trips. Enjoyed the covered porch for meals or just relaxing reading. Thank you so much again.
Our Family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed your cozy cabin! Thank you so much for sharing! We loved the quietness fo the area, and didn't realize how much, until we drove over to Jackson! We biked Targhee, hiked to Darby wind cave, spent some time at both National Parks. The cabin had everything we needed, and was very peaceful. My only complaint, is that we packed light since we had the washing machine available, and when we arrived, found it on "strike." It would have been nice to know ahead of time! Otherwise, everything was Great, and it felt wonderful to sit in the hot tub after our adventures!
We really enjoyed our stay in this house. It was a very clean cabin and had that rustic feel. We used the hot tub, firepit, horseshoes, etc which was great. Everything worked great and the location was fantastic. We would recommend this home to anyone looking to travel to the area.
