HUGE LUXURY LOG CABIN WITH HOT TUB AND POOL TABLE

We had actually stayed here for the entirety of the last ski season starting from November 2011 for a meditation retreat and continued our lease into the summer. We would have continued the lease for another season yet, but we unfortunately our circumstances prevented us from doing so.

We will, however, happily return here for weekend trips. We always check this house to see if it's available before we even think about looking elsewhere. We actually determine if we'll be on the North or SOuth side based on the availability of this home, it's just that incredible. The pictures really don't do it justice!

Johan is an amazing host and obviously cares about his home and your experience. We loved every single day we were in that house and whatever minor problems arose, Johan was always on top of it in a heartbeat.

It's not too far from the Y stores where you can shop and enjoy a huge supermarket with a surprising gourmet selection. Believe me, if there is a chef in your group, they will ADORE this kitchen. Yawning counter spaces, a beautiful gas stovetop and very well stocked with quality appliances and equipment. The whole house just glows from the beautiful wood and excellent lighting.

There's nothing cheap or tacky, unlike some of the rentals we've come across. The house itself is extremely maintained. We have rented 4 houses in South Lake Tahoe and this house is by far our favorite.

The house is nestled the corner of the neighborhood and the national forest is literally in your backyard. Perfect for anyone looking for a retreat, romantic or not.

You can walk straight out of the back door and walk for a 10 minutes for a breathtaking view of the state line and Lake Tahoe. Wander further and find waterfalls, (that you can walk over!) the powerful remains of the fire plantations, and a stunning pebble beach 45 minutes away with the most dramatic backdrop of the mountain.

We had five adults and 3 children all under 5 years old stay here for 3 weeks and we were very comfortable (and safe!). The spacing of the bedrooms definitely allow for privacy and the common room is great at sunset. You can catch a glorious sunset from time to time, and the kids loved seeing "where the Yetis live". :P

Obviously, we just can't recommend this place enough. We're always looking forward to our next trip up.

Our stay in this beautiful mountain home was everything we were hoping it would be. The kitchen is well equipped and all 14 of us were very comfortable with the accomations thoughout the home. Bedrooms are generous in size. We enjoyed being a short drive from all the area attractions and also really appreciated coming back from hiking, beaches and shopping to a quiet neighborhood that feels very secluded. Would absolutely rent this home again!

We chose this property among a number of south shore properties for a family reunion. It was our first experience using HomeAway so there were some apprehensions but our anxieties disappeared as we settled in. The property is as advertised. The house was spacious and accommodated 12 of us nicely in 4 large bedrooms. We especially liked the nicely outfitted kitchen and large dining room and table that sat all of us comfortably. The deck with the hot tub was a great place to relax for those who weren't out hiking, bicycling, and exploring the area.

It's good to note that the neighborhood in which the house sits was not affected by the infamous Angora fires so the immediate area is unscarred. Down the road a bit, though, there are stark reminders that fire safety isn't something to mess with and best to adhere to the appropriate local ordinances. Still, the local neighborhood is adjacent to Fallen Leaf Lake which is a nice destination for a walk when the snow is gone.

The property has a number of nice amenities including the hot tub, a modern washer and dryer, and is equipped with all the typical kitchen small electrics. The outdoor grill is connected to the house natural gas system and is large enough to grill anything and everything to feed the gang. A refrigerator in the garage supplements the one in the kitchen so we didn't have to make repeated trips to the market.

Unlike older properties in the Tahoe area, this one had plenty of electrical outlets. We half-heartedly tried to get the TV to work but TV watching was really not in our desires. We did love the Sonos sound system that worked off a single iPod and played music in selected areas.

All in all, the property was worth the cost and everyone agreed we'd definitely would return when Tahoe beckons our group again.
