Fjellsynhytte, Norwegian for Mountain View Chalet. Dave and Elin wish to welcome you to enjoy our large comfortable well appointed cedar log home with its spectacular views of the East Kootney Rockies including the Ski Hill, Lizard Range, Mount Fernie and the Three Sisters. Located on the sunny side of the valley within the city of Fernie, 10 km from the ski hill and 1.5 km from the historic downtown we back onto green space and frequently wake to deer and other wildlife in the backyard. Hiking, biking and running trails are accessible from the front door. Designed with skiing and outdoor activities in mind you enter into the large foyer with adjacent equipment storage room, benches and coat hooks for all. The open kitchen creates a natural flow between the Great Room with its vaulted ceilings and cathedral windows and the large Dining Area. We stayed here with 2 kids, one grandmother and 6 other adults. Really enjoyed the main rooms. We had 12 to supper at the large table without feeling crowded. Dave & Elin are excellent hosts. The non skiers in the group found the town enjoyable. The skiers loved the hill. It snowed a lot while we were here. We had a blast & made good use of the boot driers & hot tub.

This was a great place to stay and Dave was an
excellent host. The place is as advertised and more. If
you a thinking of on the hill-save you money and stay
here. The town is as great as the hill. All 4 couples and
kids loved the home and all the space we had.

Once again, a fabulous holiday in my favorite home
away from home - Fernie BC! The snow kept
coming down as we enjoyed four great days at the
Mountain View Chalet; skiing and snowshoeing;
hanging out in the family room reading all day;
spending lots of time in the hot tub; going into
town for shopping and groceries. Can't wait to
come back and ski the 'deep pow' at Fernie.
