The Serendipity apartment is a one bedroom, self efficiency apartment located on the lower level of a private villa on a ridge overlooking Provo's scenic North Shore.
We are located a +/- 10 minute walk from Babalua Beach which is on the West side of the entrance to Turtle Cove Marina. This beach is very quiet and offers several good snorkeling reefs just a few yards offshore. It is a +/- 20 minute walk to the Turtle Cove Marina area where there are several good restaurants, dive operators and other tourist services.
The apartment has air-conditioning in the bedroom and ceiling fans in both the bedroom and the main living area. The patio looks out on the reef and the beautiful turquoise waters of the North Shore. It is fully equipped with full-size refrigerator and stove plus all pots, pans, dishes and cutlery. Basic linens, sheets towels, etc are also provided. All you need to bring is the food.
My wife and I retired to the TCI in 1999 from Canada and have enjoyed living here immensely ever since. The people, the weather, the view, all wonderful.
Robert Wilson purchased this apartment in 2001
We bought this place where we live, and where our Serendipity Apartment is, for one main reason, 'The VIEW'. Other than that, we loved the house.
What are you waiting for? Book it!! lol
I just returned home to the freezing cold from the best trip ever!!! And I have to give a huge thanks to Bob and Carol for making that happen. We had such an amazing time :) Bob and Carol were so genuine and honestly the best hosts we could ask for. Bob picked us up from the airport which relieved a lot of stress on arrival. They are such sweet people which really was the icing on the cake. The view from Serendipity is beautiful with crystal blue waters as far as the eye can see. The apartment is spotless and very well equipped. Carol even drove us to the grocery store. We didn't rent a car and so it was a big help to be able to depend on them to give us a hand. It would probably be better to rent a car to get around the island but, we enjoyed walking in the sunshine. If we did need anything, Bob and Carol would get it for us. Highlights were:
1.Secluded beach which we walked to in 2 mins.
2.Watching New Years Eve fireworks next to the bonfire on the beach with live drumming Junkanoo band!
3.Bob taking us to North Point with a detour to see Flamingos and go to Da Conch Shack .
4. Carol setting up the undersea adventure so we could see spotted eagle rays.
5.Kayaking through the mangroves were we saw lemon sharks in the shallow water.
6. Getting to know Bob and Carol
I could go on forever....We had SO much fun and I would definitely stay at Serendipity again, they made us feel as if we were at home (I even asked them if they could adopt me...)
All in all, Highly highly recommended!!!!! It truly was a serendipitous find:) We miss it already....
Thanks Bob and Carol (good luck with those pineapples:)
This is a fantastic steal of a deal. Bob and Carol are the most kind and generous hosts that really create a wonderful place to stay on vacation. Serendipity is nestled on the hill with a breathtaking view of the turquoise waters, but also a short walking distance to a gorgeous hidden beach. The house has everything you need to have a comfortable stay on your vacation. It is centrally located so it is easy to drive to all the sights of the islands. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the locals as well as some of the most amazing beaches. Weather was fantastic and I cant wait to come back. We couldn't have asked for better owners than Bob and Carol. Everything was just as pictured and described. They had great information and we even generous enough to give us a ride down to the NYE beach celebrations. I would recommend Serendipity to anyone who wants a clean, quiet place to stay with fabulous hosts! I know I will certainly be back.
Serendipity is truly a wonderful place to stay on Provo! It was clean and exactly as depicted in the photos - only the view was even better! Bob and Carol are fantastic hosts and wonderful people! I forgot my curling iron and Carol lent me her personal one for the week!! Our best day was spent with Bob as our captain - thank you for a most memorable day!! The amenities are pretty complete - maybe a spatula for eggs - probably just couldn't find it! Other guests have mentioned the bed - we too found it a bit rolly-to-the-middle, but we heard talk about a change and it certainly didn't affect our sleep hugely! After strolling through the resort/condos on Grace Bay we joyfully retreated to our haven called Serendipity! Very quiet and peaceful - few dogs barking anywhere! We fully planned on eating out around the island at recommended restaurants but had an extremely hard time pulling ourselves off the deck and made good use of the excellent bbq. We can't imagine staying anywhere else if we return to the island.
Babalua Beach is roughly a ten minute walk downhill and has great sand, some good snorkeling and is very private and sedate. Grace Bay is amazing for walking for miles on end! The water colour is spectacular anywhere on the island!
Thank you Bob and Carol for an amazing stay with you! It will remain a treasured memory!

My husband and I (and our 6 month old) stayed at Serendipity for a week. It was a perfect vacation and much was as we expected based on the description of the apartment and other reviews. Our favorite feature was the excellent snorkeling right at the beach at the bottom of the hill (less than 10 minute walk). The beach was so peaceful and beautiful, it didn't seem to be necessary to go elsewhere. We did check out Grace Bay a few times and my husband did some fishing at Taylor Bay. The owners are really great - low key, very helpful but definitely not intrusive. As others mentioned, having a car is very nice so you can do some exploring and shopping for groceries is not really walking distance.
For several years I have been seeking the perfect caribbean holiday villa - quiet, near a beautiful beach, good snorkelling, don't need a car (handy for the shops), good local produce. A comfortable bed and a shower that works. Somewhere to sit out in the warm evenings. Not too expensive. I don't ask for much....
And now I have found it. Sure, it doesn't score 10 on all these things, but if you are fit (don't mind walking 20 minutes to the farmers market on saturday, for example) It is fine. And when you add in Bob and Carol, the most professional, helpful and friendly hosts I have met, then you cannot do better.
The snorkelling straight off the beach in front is great, and Smiths reef (a 30 minute walk away) is even better (and you can stop for a late lunch and draught Turks Head beer at 'Sharkbite' on the way back). We have snorkelled off the beach all round the world, and this is some of the most unspoilt reef you will find.
Just three minor things to bear in mind:
Although it is peaceful, there are some local dogs that howl at night - take earplugs!
It is a 500 yard walk to the beach (but well worth it)
You are staying downstairs from your hosts, so there will be some noise (but they are on hand to help in any way they can, which certainly made our holiday far more enjoyable).
We'll be back.
If you're looking for a place to call home while on vacation, look no further. From the moment we arrived, the place felt like our own and it make our vacation relaxing and intimate.
The place itself is clean, well-furnished and well-sized for a couple or small family (<4). The furniture is comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. You get a beautiful view of the ocean and space to call your own. That space made our time more intimate and allowed us to really focus on each other (we are a couple), the beautiful place we were at and relaxing.
The hosts, Bob and Carol, were wonderful. They picked us up from the airport, drove us to the grocery store and to the car rental place and gave us lots of advice on where to go. They know the island well and can really guide you. That being said, they weren't overbearing and gave us our space to do our own thing- a perfect balance!
If you're staying at Serendipity, I would highly recommend renting a car. The place is not located walking distance from anything but the beach and a bank, and unless you're planning on going to the same beach everyday, you are out of luck. Car rentals aren't expensive, and getting a car allowed us to visit every beach on the island, get groceries multiple times and go out to the Grace Bay area (where the resorts are) for a couple dinner or drink outings.
Overall, it was amazing to have a place that felt like home to come to after a day out on the beaches and having the convenience of staying in and making dinner. I would recommend this to couples or families of 4 or less.
