A VERY GOOD DEAL, WE'LL BE BACK.

A very good deal, we'll be back.

We had a very pleasant stay here. Perfectly fine kitchen and bed. a very good deal. As others have said, it is only 20 minutes on the subway to Times Square. Very nearby there is a McDonald's and supermarkets. It is a landmark building and a quiet street. The only negative thing is the noise of toddler's feet from the floor above, where the owner lives. The wifi worked much better in the bedroom. The owner, Abe, is on site if you need him and was quite helpful. If you want an excellent meal reserve at Red Rooster on 125th and Lenox.

GREAT STAY WITH HELPFUL OWNER

  • 5 of 5
During our short stay with kids we found everything needed. We arrived very late ( around mid night) and the owner was very happy to receive us, this is the one thing I like about him. Nice advice as and when needed. Mcdonalds just 1 minute walk. Most kitchen stuff available to cook home made food. We surely recommend this place.

WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I stayed in this condo for a week and loved it. It was my first time to New York and I couldn't have been happier with the stay. The condo is in a great location as you are a short walk to the subway and can get downtown very easily. Having the quiet neighborhood to come home to was a nice change of pace from the long days we spent in the heart of the city.

The distance to the subway is a huge plus; it was a short and fun walk that gave us great sights to see along the way. There was plenty of places to eat and pick up items throughout the week. Everyone that we encountered in the area was very nice and we neer felt unsafe while we were out.

The condo itself was spectacular. What you see in the pictures is what you get and we were very pleased with how nice it was! Nothing at all to complain about. An earlier review had something about the noise from upstairs, which didn't both us at all. You're staying in a home setting and it was comforting to know that we were among families in the area.

We are already planning out next visit and plan to stay in the same condo. Abe is very easy to work with and is quick to reply to any communication, giving you one less thing to worry about for your vacation.

WE LOVED THIS UNIT!

  • 5 of 5
This review is written from the perspective of a “first-time visitor to NYC," with the intent to spend as much time possible exploring Manhattan. We (four girls) were promptly let in to the apartment and given a thorough tour of the unit. We also recvd. pamphlets regarding the city as well as several menus. The apt. was very clean, spacious & affordable. It’s located in an historical neighborhood in Harlem. The units were so distinct and the neighborhood was so quiet—signs are even posted advising to “honk” at your own peril. The neighbors were kind and helpful (esp. with directions). McDonalds is literally less than five min.away, & there are several vendors, convenience stores, & restaurants located nearby. The fruit stand was super convenient--essentially a “breakfast-on-the-go” spot. We returned to the apt. every night past 1 am and we always felt safe. We never had any issues with the neighborhood or the people we encountered. As far as transportation goes, there are several bus stops nearby & the subway is only about 2 or 3 blocks away. We relied on the 3 train. It took us everywhere. It goes to Times Square, which you will soon learn is important, as almost every other train in Manhattan connects at this station. We also took a car from Harlem to the Broadway area and it cost us less than 20. We were more than happy to rely on the subway because it was the most cost effective way to travel. The apt. is furnished with basically everything you need to cook/eat—utensils, pans, pots, etc. Plenty of towels were also provided, as well as a hair dryer, extra sheets & an extra comforter. We all slept comfortably (two of us shared the bed while the other two slept in the living room on the couches/pull-outs). Overall, we had a lovely stay & hope to go back soon. The unit was great and the price was even better. For those who might complain about sound, it’s pointless. The first night we arrived, we got in so late we stayed at a hotel near LGA. The hotel was small and it had 2 full size beds. It only had sheets that fit the mattress and a thin blanket. It smelled like smoke and the walls were paper thin. We basically paid twice as much as the apt. for this room and it was nowhere near as nice, clean and comfortable as the apt. If noise bothers you, NYC might not be the city for you. As for us, we were hardly in the unit, but when we were, noise was never an issue. For the price, location (manhattan) and quality, you will be hard pressed to find better.

VERY PLEASANT TWO WEEKS IN NY

  • 5 of 5
Apartment: The flat is clean and equiped with furtnitures in good health. The kitchen is nice, includes all needed electrical appilances in very good quality. We have left there oil, sugar, salt, ketchup, mustard and many spices, we did not finished off (we get them from home, so they have specifications in Czech language). Abe (the owner) is very friendly, willing and helpful, everything we missed (bigger pot, potiche for the flowers) he provided promptly. Also Sabrena, his wife, and their children are very nice. I´ve read in one of previous comments about the kids, functioning as a wake up call :-) We have to agree with that - the floor is not so thick and can not isolate the regular life upstairs :-) The childrens are running there and back, faster than Usain Bolt and longer than a Marathon competitor, especially in the morning :-) But - we were not angry about that, it was lovely and makes us smile :-) It was our choice to stay in the apartment and not at the hotel - and we are really not ache for it. May be we´ve caused similar problems to Abe during some nights :-) If yes, sorry about it :-) And... Be careful, if you try to open the windows :-)

Location: We were afraid a little bit of the Harlem, but we felt safe every time. Of course, if you try to discover the deepest corner of this part of NY in the late night, you can get other experiences, but we did not have any problem.

Shopping: There is a lot of stores or fastfoods nearby, many of them are open 24/7. Supermarket Path Mark is on 145th street, about 10 minutes walk. But is very, very crowded - be prepared for a long queues. You can buy everything there for good prices, but make allowance for about one hour...

Parking: We have rented a car for 3 days. Parking is ok in this location, but if you are not an American, there are some differences you have to know :-) First: there is not allowed to park close by fire hydrants, you have to park at least 15 feets away from it. And second: Four times in a week the City service cleans the road. Twice left and twice right side. It is displayed on the signs, so pay attention to that.

Summary: We´ve find a perfect place to stay, with very friendly owners. There is no reason to give less than five stars - the stay was very enjoyable and in case of our next trip to NY we will for certain contact Abe again. Thanks!
