Nice stay in Brooklyn !

5 of 5
Submitted: August 4, 2009 Stayed: July 2009
We had a very nice stay during 6 nights in this apartment ; clean, functional, we (party of 5) were very confortable. The kitchen is very well equiped ; with the subway, it takes only 30 minutes to get to Time Square. We will surely come back. Marie-Line has been very helpful as we had some problems with lost luggages. And she speaks french !

Marie-Line, merci pour votre accueil ; nous avons passé un excellent séjour à NYC et avons découvert Brooklyn et ce quartier si calme. Si vous ou des proches comptent venir en France, nous serions content de vous aider.

Great apartment in Park Slope

4 of 5
Submitted: January 7, 2013 Stayed: December 2012
First things first:

Is the neighborhood safe? Absolutely. Park Slope is a delightful and convenient location to explore both Manhattan and Brooklyn. There are plenty of shops, grocery stores and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk from the apartment. The apartment is an easy 10-15 minute walk to Prospect Park and all that it offers.

Would we stay in the apartment again whenever we visit New York City? Yes. This was a great ‘value for money spent’ apartment.

Is the apartment really close to a subway line? Yes. You are less than a 10 minute walk to the B and Q lines which will easily get you into Manhattan, particularly the Q line.

Something to consider:

With this said you are still 45-60 minutes to Central Park, a bit more to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and a bit less to the Empire State Building for instance. Lower Manhattan is less still. These are approximate “door to door” estimates.

On to the apartment:

The owner: A kind and gracious woman who was quite accommodating.

The physical layout:

Pretty much as it appears in the photos. It was perhaps a bit smaller but not too much. It was absolutely clean and well presented with hardwood floors and a relatively recently updated kitchen and bathroom. The bed in the master bedroom is fantastic. Very comfortable. As advertised the 2nd bedroom is small and can only be used by 1 person (perfect for our 13 year old son). The “art” on the walls were a nice touch. The washer and dryer are located in the master bedroom “closet”. Storage space was adequate for our needs.

Some things to consider:

4-5 adults would be a pretty tight fit as you would have to use the roll out sofa bed in the living room.

The water pressure in the shower is average at best.

The kitchen is small and a trip to Ikea for new tableware and frying pans would help.

The Ikea trip also goes for the 2 living room chairs. They’re pretty uncomfortable.

The kitchen table was great. It was long with seating along the wall and opposite side. Very useful.

All in all a great apartment from which to explore the City.

Labor Day Week-end 2011

This was a perfect place to stay for our daughters wedding. It is well maintained, clean, close to shops, grocery, subway and restaurants. The apartment is well supplied with everything you need to be comfortable. The owner provided take-out menus and information on the local attractions which was a plus. We enjoyed Prospect Park, toured the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, ordered Thai take-out from Spices, had manicures/pedicures at Seven Nails, had dinner at Scottaditos and ate many a cookie from Emily's. We used 7th North car service many times for trips around the area and to the airport. They were right on time. This is definitely a recommended place to stay and I would not hesitate for a second to stay there again. Thank you Marie-line!

Luxury Apartment

We had a great time in Brooklyn. This is a luxury apartment; it's really comfortable and spacious and it is very well equipped. There are great stores and restaurants within a few blocks, though Lincoln Place is a quiet residential street where the biggest noise comes from the cicadas. The apartment is sensitively managed and excellent value for money. Nearby subway stations make Manhattan accessible though Brooklyn has a lot to offer and we liked better than its more famous neighbour across the river. We saw a great band, attended a poetry festival, saw the new Woody Allen film and dined at a truly excellent Mexican restaurant, all within walking distance of the apartment. We also bought fresh pastries every morning and went to Mass at St Augustine's. Top.

Wonderful stay in a family friendly neighborhood

Our family of five had a wonderful stay in this Park Slope property during New Year 2010-11. The apartment is very nice, clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed, just like home. The apartment is located in a safe, family friendly neighborhood, a stone´s throw from Seventh Avenue. There are grocery stores (Key Food, Union market), good restaurants, cafés, boutiques and bookstores close by. We enjoyed the easy access (by subway) to New Yorks´s best attractions. The host Marie-Line was very friendly and helpful during our stay. This apartment is a great home base for visiting New York and we can highly recommend this appartment to almost everyone.
