Wake up to the sound of the loons, have breakfast in the sun room, go for a late morning swim, pack a lunch and go explore the lake, read a book or take a nap in the hammock, catch a large trout off of the dock for dinner, watch a spectacular sunset, then entertain friends and family on a large deck overlooking the lake. A vacation at our cottage can be as exciting or as relaxing as you and your family choose to make it. Our property offers a well maintained family owned cottage. The cottage is located well off of the main road and nestled on an over-sized lot where there is plenty of privacy and room for the entire family to play. Gradual water frontage provides easy entry to the lake for kids. The lake is approximately 5 miles long (3,900 acres) and full of fish to wrestle with. A mooring is provided for those with motor boats. The cottage is centrally located and is a short drive to many of Maine's premiere destinations.

Nearest Airport: Portland International Jetport at 70 Miles
Nearest Motorway: I-95 Exit 113 at 15 Miles
There are a number of restaurants in the area as well as places to get ice cream. The school is located within an easy walk from the cottage and has many walking trails and a play ground. The state capital of Augusta is right next door and provides many opportunities to shop and dine. The beautiful coastal village of Freeport is under an hour away, providing over 150 stores, boutiques, casual cafes, and is the home of LL Bean. If you are looking for a day of hiking, spectacular scenary, and a little bit of history then make sure to plan a trip to Fort Knox State Park. It is an easy scenic one hour drive across route 137 and you will pass many rural Maine farms. For more hiking and a taste of Maine Camden Hills state park is a little under one hour away. Camden is a quintessential Maine coastal fishing village. A top Mt Batte in Camden Hills state park you will be blown away by the view looking over the ocean and Penobscot bay.

Notes: Our three season cottage has no heat during the summer time and limited heating during the fall. The water comes from the lake and is suitable for washing; however, you should plan on bringing/buying bottled water with you for the length of your stay.

Further details for this vacation cottage rental in China, Maine

Rates and availability: Rental periods are Saturday through Saturday. Check-in at 3pm, check-out at 10am. A non-refundable deposit of $250 is required at time of reservation. Remaining balance plus $250 refundable security deposit is due two weeks prior to rental. Add additional $75 cleaning fee and 7% Maine Lodging Tax to all rental rates.
