House, 4 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

The house has vaulted ceilings in the main living/dining area. The entire house has wood floors, and the master suite on the main level has wood walls as well. There is a stone fireplace, Corian counter tops in the kitchen, a separate card playing area and a grilling deck.

In addition there are two big decks 52'x10' with porch furniture to enjoy sitting or eating outside. The bedrooms are spacious and can accommodate air mattresses or sleeping bags for kids. Along with 2 master suites with full baths is a Jack & Jill bath with a separate toilet on either side. There is a half bath on the main level. The master bedroom is on the main level.

This house can be enjoyed in the summer months with hours of sunning or swimming from a large dock 20feet X 26feet(approximately 50 yards on a gradual gravel path to the dock). The dock is shared with one other cabin, which is also available for rent for larger groups.

We built this house in Sept. 2008 after spending many summers enjoying the beautiful lake surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest, the long walks and the quiet privacy of the area.

Additional information about rental rates

$300 damage deposit upon booking, which is fully refundable if no damage occurs. The remainder is due two weeks before the first rental date. No credit cards accepted - only checks.
The ski/deck boat rental is $700 per week or $125 per day. You will receive the boat with a full tank of gas. You must fill it up at the end of your visit or it will be subtracted from your deposit.
** Please note that the 22 foot deck boat seats 10 people and has a 200 hp inboard motor.

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (USD) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner / advertiser.

Fabulous Lake Home!!!

We LOVED the Mac's Nantahala lake home! It had all the amenities described plus more. The home was very well maintained, very clean and larger than it looks in the photos. We relaxed on the porches under the ceiling fans on the very comfy porch furniture. It is a short walk to the dock where you can fish or you can use the Mac's very nice boat available for rent to enjoy the calm, beautiful waters of Nantahala Lake. The kids and adults tubed with the tubes available in the home. We had extra people come to visit one night and the Mac's even had air mattresses available for us to use. There was plenty of room for the air matresses on the bedroom floors. We love Nantahala and will always try to rent this home when we visit. The Mac's were great to work with and made our experience exceptional. We would recommend this home to everyone. We hope to be able to rent this home once a year!

This is a wonderful place to spend time with family. We were there for a family wedding and really enjoyed it. The house is so well appointed: mattresses are excellent; furniture is comfortable and clean; kitchen is well stocked with everything one would need for cooking. The "Mac's" were overly accommodating, and if ever we go back, I will definitely try to reserve their home again. One note of caution: we were in a big crew cab truck and turning into the drive was difficult. We found it best to back into the driveway. Next time we'll drive a smaller car. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in your lovely home.

We loved our stay at Lake Nantahala! The lake is gorgeous. The house is beautiful -- new, very clean, very comfortable & well-appointed. We had everything we needed. Our 7 and 9 yo children loved the house, surrounding property, and swimming off the spacious dock. The canoe and pontoon were an added bonus. We hope to come back!

Rented this home for a week's vacation!! Found it to be exactly as described on this site. Excellant accomadations. We found it to be very peaceful to enjoy our coffee on the deck in the morning while watching the hummingbirds feed. The pontoon boat was another plus. It was a joy to be able to venture out on beautiful Lake Nantahala.

This beautiful home has every amenity that you could possibly want! All of the bedrooms are fit for a king and there is room to spare. The modern kitchen is to die for. A short winding trail leads to the crystal clear lake and the owners provide a canoe and pontoon boat so you can enjoy it to the MAX! We spent many an evening grilling out and relaxing on the huge deck overlooking the forest and lake. It was so peaceful and quiet, and the surrounding landscape provided numerous hiking trails and/or places to stroll. We loved the nearby whitewater rafting which can be as wild or tame as you wish, and the Rivers End Restaurant at the takeout is the perfect ending to a fun day. This is a place that you and your family will want to return to year after year. No log cabin here; this is a home that you would love to call your primary residence! Bonus: it was at least 10 degrees cooler here in July than it was in Atlanta . . . which alone made our visit a big hit with everyone!
