This villa is an ideal getaway for guests yearning for a truly out of the ordinary retreat, just next to Lefkada's breathtaking beaches! Officially recognized as a preserved building, 'Meli' carries with it a history which dates back to the 19th century. It is a unique stone villa featuring 3 spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (designer matresses & toiletries, Flat Screen TVs with satellite, hairdryer, safe box), spacious sitting areas with fireplace, dining area, fully equipped rustic kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, spices etc).

The attention to detail is evident in all the superbly-decorated interiors which combine rustic authenticity with all-modern amenities. A large courtyard, a traditional wood burning oven and large built-in barbeque to the side, create exquisite sitting and dining areas with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. The secluded village is next to some of the most famous beaches in the Med (Porto Katsiki, Egremni, Gialos etc)

Breathtaking sandy beaches are closeby (Gialos, Porto Katsiki, Egremni & Kathisma). With just a few homes, a taverna providing home-made local delicacies and beautiful surroundings of fields and mountains, the village of Dragano offers a private escape to an uncommercialized and unspoiled region of the island. Endless choices exist for communication with nature & countryside exploration (mountain bikes provided, various activities arranged on request) as well as familiarization with local culture & history (festivals, local life activities, taste of local produce, cookery lessons). All kinds of amenities such as bars, restaurants, ATM, medical center, super market can be found at Vasiliki (12Kms), also known as a windsurfer's paradise. Minimarkets, butcher's and bakery can be found much closer (6kms). Excursions to smaller islands around Lefkada such as Onassis's Scorpios, to Kefallonia & Ithaca. Athani, at 1.6kms, is the closest village to Dragano offering minimarket supplies and a selection of tavernas with romantic views to sea & sunset.

A magnificent honeymoon stay!

This house is magnificent! We were there for our honeymoon and found the island and the Meli house to be the perfect relaxing, romantic setting. We enjoyed cooking meals in the kitchen and the wood-burning oven, relaxing in the beautiful garden, and taking the bikes out for a scenic ride. We thank the owners most of all for their incredible hospitality - for their suggestions of which beaches to go to, the amazing Rachi restaurant and the fun winery tour. We wish them the best of luck and continued success with their business - we would recommend it in a heartbeat! Jen & Ben

Out of the ordinary

A perfect stay at the most charming, spacious and comfortable house I have seen in a while. The island itself is a discovery for me, the nearby beach Gialos practically empty and absolutely beautiful. Roads are better than I expected, Dragano Village is very well positioned if you want to explore the best beaches on the island. We're all having flashbacks from Meli ever since we got back, two months ago. That includes three and four year olds. Enjoy!!!

Feel like home in a unique villa

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and peaceful place. We enjoyed exploring the island, spending time at the beautiful beaches and coming back to MELI and feel home. The owners have created a wonderful place and we wish them all the best for the future.

A Mansion with a personality!

We had a great time in Meli! The house is spacious and beautifully decorated. The owner has kept the ambience of the original and historic mansion, but with all the modern amenities. I guess the stonehouse is more than 150 years old but has been recently renovated. The whole experience had a personal touch and attention, completely different than our recent visit to one luxurious but completely indifferent hotel in Buenos Aires . The location is great for nature lovers in an unspoiled village. It is close to the best beaches of the island. We will definetey go back again.
