Clean, Central and Convenient

We had family visiting from Denmark for two weeks. It was my boyfriend's grandmother, who is 86, almost blind, but super healthy alongside his cousin and her husband (mid 20-30's). They had the opportunity to stay at this great apartment, perfect for their needs. Everything was clean,the kitchen was fully equipped (although could need new cutlery and a sharper knife (or knife-sharpener)) and there were fresh and clean linens and towels for all three. The two bedrooms were comfortable, the beds were wonderful to sleep in and the living room offered good space for some down-time.
The kitchen chairs do need to be replaced though, they were old, squeaky wooden chairs that seemed like they could break any second.
One day in the middle of their stay they came home to a fresh smelling apartment with clean linens and new clean towels. Just lovely.
I corresponded with Mark during their stay and he was very communicative and helpful. One of the bedroom-doors got jammed (the nob became loose) and they fixed it right away.
Overall it was a very good experience and I will highly recommend this to anyone travelling to SF. I guess it fits a family budget, travelling 3 or 4 people together. Or two couples.

Perfect base in a delightful period property

My wife and i stayed in this property with another couple for a week in April. I have given this property a five star rating.

If you are thinking of booking this property you might want to consider the following points.

1) Booking and check in.

Lynn and Mark made the whole process as smooth as it could be. Their communication was prompt and clear. They answered questions that I hadn't thought of to ask and they dealt with all the points I raised in a very positve way.

2) The property

It was a real treat to stay in a place that felt it was part of the history of the city. The apartment is full of period features and has been carefully restored. The flat contains all the comforts you would expect and some you wouldn't. The bathroom is a real highlight.

As two couples we had plenty of space to be on our own as well as space to socialise. The kitchen/dinner is well equipped and we were able to prepare a full meal within 60 minutes of checking in.


3) The location

All the fun of the Castro neighbourhood is just round the corner. We stayed a week and still didn't have enough time to visit all the cool places on our doorstep.

Saying this, the propery is in a quiet street and I had no problem with getting a good nights sleep. We also had no problem finding a parking space in the evening. I'd heard a lot about the dangers of the big city before I travelled but any fears on that score were completely unfounded.

4) Local transport

There is no reason to use a car while you are in the city.

Within five minutes walk you have access to buses and trams that will take you downtown and to the east and west of the city. The nearest Muni train station is less than 10 minutes walk away and the BART is only just a little further.

5) Our hosts

Lynn and Mark really did go to a lot of trouble to make our stay as comfortable as it could be.

Terrific stay

We had a terrific stay in the apartment - just right for what we
needed to do, albeit too short a stay. We were so comfortable there.
Thank you for your attention to detail without fussiness. Hope to rent again ourselves - perhaps the one-bedroom with my husband next trip! So convenient. Thank you again. Loved the old 'fixtures' in the
bedroom-come-kitchen. Brought me right back to my first SF flat in
1967!

Wonderful stay!

We enjoyed every minute of our time in San Francisco, and your great apartment contributed to that in no small part. It was so nice to come back to ‘home’ after exploration trips, appreciate a glass or two on the veranda and take in the general peace of the neighbourhood, before heading out again for the evening. Facilities like the inhouse laundry were so handy. So much better than a hotel room – we could really spread out! We would recommend it to any of our friends or correspondents headed your way.
